Hi Guys
I have a 1322 and just added an 18" barrel and steel breech. When I shoot, there is a small puff of air from where the transfer port is. I am wondering if it's my fault (i.e. not tightened the bloody little breech screw enough) or I need more sealing at the barrel end of the port. Much appreciate all advice.

Are both top and bottom seals in place? Of the breech is touching the tube....it's tight.

You try tightening it more?

Factory they don't come with a top seal.

Right, I don't remember having a top seal. I hope I checked properly for left-over parts after assembly.

For some reason......Crosman never put a top seal in the 1377/1322.....I found a seal at home depot and had to shave it a little to fit but its worth the time......you're losing about 30 fps without it..

The TP is sensitive to orientation. The shorter shoulder fits into the valve, and the longer into the barrel. Upside down they will often leak.
Go easy on cranking that 4-48 screw. . . .

Thanks for the replies. I think I‘ll try to use some plumber's tape on top of the port. It's just that I really hate the thought of fiddling with the tiny screw again. I'll end up buying a spare just for peace of mind.

Plumbers tape WILL make a good seal....but only for a few dozen shots....if that.You will find the air pressure is too great and it shreds the tape into threads and you'll be tearing it down AGAIN.Those Breech screws can only take so much abuse till the head strips out......most of us have been there.... :D

Clamp the breech and compression tube in a vise, before tightening the small screw.

Vagrant steered you in the right direction.
Bottom of the port has the "short" bevelled edge.
They will pass a lot of air when installed upside down...
