So I went to three different places today, and none of them had a 2240. This is the same town that I called 14 different places looking for a slice of apple pie, and nowhere had any.

I did however find an all black 1377 at Canadian Tire which I may grab tomorrow afternoon. As said above, I'll probably end up buying both, but I don't feel like ordering a 2240 and waiting a week to start shooting.

What options are available to replace the plastic front sight on the 1377?

Cheers

I have found no reasonable priced fibre optics option in Canada for the 1377. I used white model paint and painted the sight edge white. I did find reasonable price fibre optic sights for the 2240.

So I caved and bought the 1377 as it was all that was available locally. It's the new version that is all black. Haven't got to shoot it yet, but I will tomorrow after work. Got the 8.3gr miesterkugeln pellets with it.

I will most likely use this as a modding platform for now. Less extra pieces to carry around as stated above. Better consistency, especially in cold weather. And I know there are some good valve mods out there to crank a little (lot) more velocity out of it.

I think I'll ultimately do a .22 conversion to it, but only after the power is increased and the trigger and sights are perfected. Pretty stoked as it stands

I have a question... Compare to the 2240, will you guys think about the Crosman custom 2300KT or 2400KT?! (If we can have it shipped to Canada...) I think we can have one stop buying almost everything (Mods) u want to put on the 2240...

And, for a .22 @ 460fps, usually the pellet weight would be around 14gr... didn't we need a license to buy this gun??

Got it!! Now I understand the example why a under 500fps cannon shooting 10lbs iron ball no need the license... lol

I vote for the 2240 too~ I think I will buy one in the future~ to step in a little bit to be bigger~

Not the best example.
1. A cannon isn't air powered, it uses gunpowder, so not an air gun.
2. The powder is black, not smokeless, so that may also change the applicable regulations.
3. I don't think a typical cannon requires a license anyway, regardless of muzzle velocity, which can approach 1000fps.

I love my pumpers!
I own a 1377 and also have a 1322 with 14" barrel (and B392 and Crosman 2100). Of the pistols, I shoot the 1322 the most, and pellets aren't that expensive (or weren't that expensive when I stockpiled them).

As far as sights go, since I have the longer barrel, I was able to put an OEM 2240 fibre optic front sight on it. The rear sight is an LPA MIM on a steel breech, expensive but solid, compact, and good quality.

I've been looking for a velocity chart for the 1377 that shows velocity for various numbers of pumps, but all I can find is the US version that shoots over 500fps at 10 pumps.

Has anyone chronographed the 1377 at like 6 or 7 pumps to see what it's shooting?

Thanks

413.8 7 pumps
458.4 10 pumps
487.3 12 pumps
---.- 14 pumps ummm never mind. LOL
Stopped at 14 pumps as I did not want to damage pistol.

lol~ Don't be so serious~ Just an example to explain if you didn't excess the 500 fps, even you are shooting a 10 lbs iron ball you don't need a license~ Just imagine you got an air BB gun which shoots 10 lbs steel BBs...Oh my... what a giant BB, if we still call it BB.... ^_^

Just use the free provided calculator to do the math... 10lbs = 4536 grams, 1 gram = 15.4 grain... so 10lbs = 69854 grain... shooting @ 500 fps, oh, @ 499 fps..., we got 38632.1 ft-lbf....

The unfortunate thing is, they will not ship to Canada.

Check this gun out! If all goes well it'll be for sale in the next few months in Canada:

So I discovered today that the 1377 won't break a glass bottle with wadcutters. This hasn't detracted from my shooting enjoyment however. Just a little surprised is all.

No problems with accuracy. Shot the top off a spraypaint can from 15m with relative ease. Fired three shots at a paper target from the same range and put two shots through the same hole.

The front sight out of the box was bent, and it shoots a little high and left even with the rear sight as far down as it can go. Already planning on swapping out the breech and rear sight with the LPA MIM sight.

Still looking for a front sight solution
