After a few years of going back and forth, I finally made a decision and picked up a Norica Marvic 2.0 Luxe (.22 cal) from scopes and ammo. Don't have it yet, it's on order. I plan to do a mini-review and post it here after a while using it.

I wanted a full powered springer so I had to get my PAL just to pick it up (what a pain in the buttock that was). It was between this and Weihrauch. I figured I've already sampled plenty of HW guns, time for something different. The price is right on the Norica guns and Scopes and Ammo are very close to me, so shipping cost isn't too bad (or a long wait).

Anyone here own a Norica? There is almost zero information out there on these guns.

You're in for a pleasant surprise. Most of my air rifles are Weihrauch/Beeman, though I have 3 Noricas: Mod 56, Massimo & Black Eagle. The triggers and accuracy of the Massimo and Black Eagle are excellent and compare favorably to the more pricey German-made guns. The model you ordered has the same adjustable trigger. A special forked tool is necessary to disassemble them if you're so inclined. Congrats on a fine choice. RC

Still enjoying your black eagle? I know you really liked it back when we discussed it. I almost ALMOST ordered the black eagle in .177 but I really wanted a .22 cal air rifle (just preference - nothing more) and they didn't have it listed in that caliber.

Enjoying? absolutely. So far, the BE is the only Norica with the adjustable trigger available here in the states. The Marvic and Storm models were on my short list, but never was able to locate either. Looking forward to any comments regarding your new shooter. RC

In the same price range, Gamo is generally better then Norica.

I've checked out Gamo. The honest reviews were generally bad and user consensus was even worse. Norica on the other hand always had favourable results, often compared to Weihrauch but slightly lesser quality (usually triggers) which is what I'm expecting.

Well, it is based on opinions from people who doing repairs and mods for different airguns. And they strongly recommend gamo over norica. Some of the points - gamo is relatively easy to take apart and back, gamo usually has better trigger (not all models, but f.e. in comparison between GH-440 and Norica Dragon) and better long-term durability.
Downside - if a gamo rifle is de-powered (to 500 fps or some other regional limit) it kills itself unless restored to a factory power level.

Thanks, I can see you were giving an honest opinion, my apologies. Anyway, an alternate opinion keeps things interesting!

I still think that Norica is nicer looking than any of the Gamos I've seen, especially all the synthetic stocks and plastic on many of them!

First thing I'm going to do is advise no one buys the Norica Marvic 2.0 Luxe model and I'll explain why.

When I got the gun, I honestly thought I was shipped a used airgun because the breech and transfer port ended up with rust. When I contacted scopes and ammo, they in turn contacted Norica and apparently this is some grease used on their "high end" guns, which the Marvic 2.0 luxe sits. THeir reasoning was that this grease concoction caused the mess and it could be removed with rubbing alcohol and a bit of hard work. It didn't work, and to me, still looks and behaves like rust.

I decided to keep the rifle rather than fight for a return, mostly because I didn't want to foot the bill to have it shipped back AND because the gun does shoot well despite the condition of the breech / port. I however am left disappointed with scopes and ammo and with Norica in general over this experience, and wished I had just purchased a Weihrauch from D&L which was my 2nd (but more expensive) option.

Jeepers that is too bad, I think if it doesn't clean up you should see if they'd split the cost of return shipping or something. You'll be reminded every time you see it of the sour deal you got. I'm sure scopes and Ammo can't be happy with those pictures either.

I sent them the pictures and asked for a refund, but they didn't seem willing, claiming it was just something I can remove with elbow grease. After a few e-mails back and forth I decided it just wasn't worth the trouble but only because the gun seemed a decent shooter regardless. I am also going through some health issues and I don't have the energy to start a fight with a small online store about a bit of rust on an otherwise working rifle.

Sadly this means I would never recommend them to anyone I know based on my experience, which is probably not the norm, as I hear a lot of good from this forum.

The shops I ordered from before (like SSSO) would inspect and test the gun before shipping it over which I really liked. I guess that probably isn't typical behavior and I got spoiled.

I would fight.. Its a new gun and it is rusty. Also looks like the grease is dried out.
