My hard drive died on my laptop......they were not able to save any of my files(20,000+pictures) from the last 15 years.

I have a new hard drive and decided to take a couple shots using my Ipad of what I have left. I am trying to get down to 3 or 4 guns. But if history repeats I will just end up buying more

Let me know if any of you see anything you like

One other thing, I was sure I uploaded all my pictures to Icloud or Google pictures, but only current ones from the last year showed up. I am giving the bad HD to a buddy of mine that builds computer servers, kinda computer genius, hoping he can retrieve the info.

Please describe what these are. They all look great.
Why not post a request here for someone that can assist you with the drive, possibly someone local? I recently helped a guy looking for help with his old drive that he couldn't retrieve pics from. Those with the skills can easily do it for you. Heck, if you're willing to send me your drive I'd be happy to get those precious pics for you - and you wouldn't even have to send me one of these guns as payment 8)

Hi Notec,
Thx for the reply.
About your PC crashing and recovery of pic.
This is assuming you still have access to your old drive.
I have heard very good thing about this company. They might be a bit expensive but for what they do and the value of your info on the drive. It's a small price to pay.
ReStoring Data Canada

Monty Peets is the Sales Director. Nice guy easy to talk to.

Or you could try the true-and-tested free method. It doesn't seem based on what you described that your drive has suffered a major malfunction but instead that you don't have the right hardware to retrieve the contents. I have done this plenty before and have all the necessary hardware and restoration software to safely retrieve contents. My older equipment dates back to over 25 years and all still work, believe it or not. Think I have as many computers in the house as airguns  . Worst case I am unable to retrieve the files and I can return the drive intact, so that you could try something like the firm above.
Your only cost would be shipping to and from Calgary, a fraction of the several hundreds a dedicated company charges.
The offer stands, will be happy to help out a forum member. PM me if interested.

I brought the computer into the local computer guru......best in town......he couldnt get the drive to read at all. And this guy has done wizardry on computers I have brought him in the past. He didnt charge me for his time, just the cost of the new drive.
Now my personal friend that build computer servers for Bell Aliant will actually open the HD,remove the disk and put it in one of his cases. He can retrieve files from computers that have been wiped, so I think he will be able to get what I need. But I still have my backup drive like I said, I just need an older version of windows to run it.

I was kind of half joking when I posted the guns, but I have sold a couple already lol......
