I tend to agree, airsoft is very closely related to the newer bb guns that are coming out and this site is already catering to bb guns that looks so realistic and mods here can always restrict the airsoft thread, besides that there's a lot of vendor caters to both items like pyramid air and replicaairgun, I have both airgun and airsoft, what attracts me to have airgun is that the power is a lot better, for airsoft, I like the realistic way of adopting the mechanism.

The revered KWC 1911 (Tanfoglio Witness and other brandings) is a good example, which I believe is directly derived from the 6mm airsoft model.

Virtually all KWC/KJ Works/Win Gun 0.177" replicas are virtually identical to their original 6mm airsoft counterparts aside from barrels and magazine feed.

I would say the bulk of the airguns available right now are airsoft converted to fire 4.5mm.
I know vBulletin can make restricted access sections, but I dont know about phpBB. If it can, it could be set to allow users access after 50 posts. With a hidden subforum only visible to regular users, you wont attract kids coming to only talk about airsoft.
