Hi all. I just wanted to share a picture of my homemade portable target I just finished. I sometimes shoot at the range, pellet gun in my yard at the lake, as well as at the pits sometimes. The targets at the range are so-so, and at the pits and cottage, I don't have any. So I downloaded a plan online and built it today. The frame is from one 2 x 4 x 8, and the uprights are from one 1 x 2 x 8. There is a spacer on the inside to keep my legs apart the proper distance, and the 1 x 2 with cardboard just pull out from the frame. When you gat it where you want it, just slide it in and you're good to go.

Very handsome indeed. However, speaking from experience, adjustable feet for uneven ground will save you from having to prop objects under to get it level. Galvanized threaded carriage bolts about 8” long would likely be long enough. If you could get four nuts welded to plates and attach the plates to the feet, adjusting the level would only take a few seconds. Just my two cents. Cheers.

Thank you for the compliments on my stand. Great, thanks for that info! Too bad as I was looking at blind nuts yesterday, and thought I should have bought some, but didn't know what I would do with them. They would have been great to put in the bottom of the legs with carrige bolts for adjustment! Well, I guess I will go back and get a few and put them on.

I shoot IPSC and we use similar stands for target holders but with 2 x 2 uprights. What is interesting is that when a 9mm or .40s&w bullet goes off course and hits one of the uprights it makes a hole, but when a .45 hits it cuts the 2 x 2 in half and the target falls over
