Right now I have a huge assortment of pellets. A lot of them Crosman Premier pellets but I have order some of the lead-free Crosman PowerShots and Gamo Luxor Cu’s in both .177cal and .22cal. I do a lot of small game hunting and target shooting.

If it makes a difference I am using mostly a Crosman Optimus .22 and Stroger X10 .177

Any feed back would be great.

For myself,
hands down,
it’s JSB Exact Diabolo in .22 and .25 calibres.

Use the pellets that give you the best accuracy in each gun. If you try Predator pellets, you might find they shoot well in both guns, both calibres.

Pointed pellets are not good choice for hunting or target shooting. Flat nose are for target shooting only, usually as they normally lack accuracy past 20yards.

RN's (except for Predator pellets) are usually the most accurate.

Non-lead pellets are very light weight and thus, are almost like dry firing your rifles. That means, hard on spring - ie: causing breakage.

JSB's Diabolo (not Diablo) pellets, get the nod more often than not for accuracy shooting and in round nose configuration, for hunting as well.

Great thanks for all the info Daryl! That helps a lot. I’m just starting to get in to the air rifles heavy now and looking for all the info I can absorb. I’m still on spring loaded break-barrels lol

Looks we have Diablo fans here too... For our age, maybe we have been coming since Diablo I?! [emoji16]

At the beginning when I stepped into air gunning, I over looked the extra O on the diabolo and thought wow! They just put the Diablo to name the pellets....

===
Alright ~ I found the Crosman Powershot non lead is good to me on my 1322. And for its weight (16g) I think it should be not too light for the springer...

And the JSBs work very well in my hands too. It's recommended.

And OP please let us know what you shoot and it would be better to determine what pellets to use... Short range, long range, hunting, target, out door indoor.....

Hey SSB,

Of all the pellets I've tried out so far in .22 and .25 calibre, across all my various rifles, sub 500 fts "springers" as well as my more powerful PCPs, the JSB Diabolo's have been the most consistent in terms of accuracy, with very few "flyers" -pretty much the only pellet I buy now. Depending on application, target or small game hunting, velocity vs flight curve, and hitting power desired, there are quite a few grain weights available to choose from (25.39gr, 14.3gr, 18.13 etc.) in order to obtain the ideal characteristics you are looking for. AGS has a sampler tin you might try before committing to quantities in one particular weight. Unfortunately I don't own anything in .177 at the moment, so cannot speak in terms of personal experience with this cailibre.

Daibolo / Diablo ....... I almost always misspell the name I believe, because somewhere in the back of my brain, I'm thinking about my Barnett Diablo Slingshot; Hmmmm, I wonder how it might perform with some heavyweight pellets? I'll have to try that!

Cheers!

Aaron

My vote is JSB 14.3gr for the 22, and for the 177 I'd use JSB 8.44 and/or 10.34, and H&N Crow Magnum. I also like the H&N Baracuda Match, it just might be my favorite as long as you have the power to push them.
If the guns are <500fps then I guess I'd change that to lighter stuff, so I guess the lightest JSB of ea caliber. Those here with <500 guns would know more than I do since the only springer I have near that level is the Webley Tempest, which in 177 I consider 8.44gr the max

Another vote for JSB domed pellets. For the springer shooters and particularly the sub 500fps guns I would try the Exact Express lightweights, I believe there is an RS version as well.
The Express is getting very popular in the UK.

For me it's jsb 18.1 domes. 1/2" groups with my modded Benjamin .22. However, the baracudas carried me over most of the race.
