So I got a maximus, I put in a 177 barrel. But no matter what transfer port I put in, stock, enlarged etc. It still lifts up forward of the breech screw. The TP sits well in the barrel. Same as the stock barrel.

What would be causing this?

My guess you’re using a .22 cal TP with a .177 barrel. The shoulders on the TP of a .22 cal are wider than .177 to accommodate the larger hole. You need the proper TP or drill out TP shoulders on the barrel. Make sure the TP you’re using is right side up. One side is slightly wider.

You’re probably right. I assumed the tp setup was the same as the 22xx series of crosman guns.

The stock tp in my Maximus was red and the one I purchased from Canadashooterssupply was silver with a bigger hole and the one I purchased from baker air guns in the states has an even bigger hole. They are all suppose to be for 22cal. The one from baker is suppose to be the American port. You can see the difference in hole sizes.
