Did it change to black and red from blue and white?

Bought a detuned hammerli 850 from a forum member and it appears to be shooting exact jumbo express like a dream, he sent some with the gun purchase. Just trying to find out the current labelling for them...

Are these 2 pictures the same pellet?

Says carefully selected by JSB and the JSB logo. Probably just labeled for Cometa.

Like Grizzly Pellets from PA, is just re branded xsisco.

Branding it is. Last tin I bought of JSB was black and red as in the top image.
I think that is the same pellet. Note the difference in tin size- 250 vs 500 :butthead:
We're probably going to see more of this~ Sig has a premium line of pellets that appear to be H&N, and a very premium price point...
Crosman has gotten into the act with Metal mags, with made in Hungary on the back of the tin.
Crosman's pellet counts are dropping now. What used to be a 250 count tin of .22 is now 175. Tins now look far less than 1/2 full.
Tins should be sized down for a count that low. That 250 count tin used to cost 6.99. The 175 count tin is now 7.99...

Well upper label says Cometa. Which is a brand of airguns, that are made in Spain. Probably was a tin of pellets that came with a higher end Cometa rifle or something.

JSB Cometa Green Tin 4.51mm are the MOST accurate pellet in my HW97 .177.
The JSB Cometa pellets are supposed to be the match grade. The regular 4.51 JSB,
otherwise identical pellets did not shoot at well at 20 yards, as-in double the group
size every time.

To me, I don't shoot very far range with powerful rifles, so in the short distance, they are all premium pellets to me.

I bought some tins of the Cometa from DL some time ago, and they just looks and works same as the JSB labels.

What I concern is different shops carries different pellets, and they all have different actual size for you to choose, like 4.48 to 4.52, you can buy 5 different sizes to find one true love for your gun. But no shop carries all 5 different sizes, if you count in the two different labels, there are 10 kinds of pellets, no shop will stock all of them... I.e. I want a 4.48, but there is only JSB has this size, I will buy the JSB. Maybe It's the Cometa has this size, I will buy Cometa then...

Yeah, google told me that.

I've never heard that brand mentioned before, and when I Google imaged "jsb exact express diablo," the blue tin came up as the 4th image after 3 red and black ones.

I wasn't aware that stores rebrand pellets either, but learned a bunch today.

Thx

Ones on the left are the cometa jumbo express.

Ones on the right are the jsb jumbo express from Dan at the forum store.

The cometa ones have a deeper skirt than the jsb ones, but both cycle well into the breach and are very accurate in my 850.

ones on the right look like they seat better in the mag as appose to the cometa ones
little bit of space between the skirt and mag, also looks like the cometa ones have a thicker skirt as well

Learned my lesson with mixing any kind. I bought some Grizzly pellets. Bought all wadcutters and there was one round nose pack that got mixed in with them. Dumped it in with the flat nose. Both exact same weight of 8.6 gn. Shooting them 15 feet they were way off. Had to hand sort through the 2000 pellets pulling out the 480 or so round nose that were mixed in.

It looks I don't have the Cometa wadcutter, but I have the JSB wadcutter from Dan and from AGS then I have the pointed express from D&L and again AGS...

Looks they all have different inner designs....

I think this mystic question need to be answered by some insider who work in JSB's factory... ImageImage
