Wow Frank,

That's a very elaborate cooling system! If I can keep my max running temp around 50 C, I'll be happy. Absolutely, there comes a point in flow rate that becomes counter productive, but I suspect the flow of the supplied submersible pump is bare minimum, and upgrading to a more robust (and reliable) pump will yield positive results.

Yes I live in a split level 4 story house and my basement is 11 feet underground so the temp are always the same.

Hey artworks1962,

Why don't you give Richard (Mr. Paintball) a call at 1-866-805-9385 ;the website says there are currently two units left in stock. I'd act fast if I were you. https://www.paintballgear.ca/110v-adjus ... lator-COPY

Cheers!

Happy Canada Day everyone!

Well, I fired up the new Yong Heng Compressor for the second time this weekend and performed a few more experiments in regards to keeping things running cool. The first was chucking the wimpy submersible pump and hooking up a higher volume cutting fluid / coolant pump I typically use for my metal working machinery. I topped up my little 16 cubic foot carbon fibre tank from 2000 psi to 4350 psi in approximately 6.5 minutes, with a maximum temperature over the duration of 48.6 C. Given the water volume of this set up was much lower than the previous bucket of cold water, and the temperature rise of the compressor head much lower, it's pretty clear the higher flow rate dramatically increases heat transfer rates. Since the volume of coolant was half that of the original bucket of water tests, it did heat up pretty quick.

Being a firm believer in the K.I.S.S. principle (Keep It Simple Stupid), I thought, "why not just hook up your garden variety hose and run cold water straight through, no pump, no bucket, variable flow rate and, no hassle". Just so happens the rubber hose that comes with the Yong Heng fits nice and snug inside a coupler included with your standard garden hose repair kit, 5 dollar 95, at Wal-Mart. Viola! This experiment yielded even lower max temperatures, running ten minutes on my larger 88 cubic foot Air Hog tank, never exceeding 45 degrees C! What about the "wasted water" you might ask? The garden's loving it! No root shock as the water is pre-warmed. The other advantage is, in the event of a power failure /blown circuit breaker, your pump will still have coolant flowing through it.

Cheers!

Avianmanor

All the discussion with a pc cooling/radiator solution had me thinking that all is really needed is a larger reservoir/bucket. This defeats the portability but that's why they have scuba tanks for. There are many used 55 gallon drums for sale on kijiji for $20 or less. A high flow pump wouldn't be a bad idea but I do not think is necessary unless you have long run times which I do not think this compressor is designed for.

Love Avianmanor's idea. With the heatwave going on in my city I'm sure the grass would appreciate that I shoot more.

I finally gave mine a try. I do not have any pcps so I filled a empty 13ci paintball tank. I didn't time the fill but it must of been less than a minute to fill to a full 3000psi. Filled my 68 ci tank from 1000 to 1500 psi in less than a minute.

My first impressions.

-not quiet but not that loud
-fills much faster than anticipated
-gets hot fast
-well worth the price I paid

Once again thank you to HuskyDude for putting this group buy together.

My Pleasure sir!
I am totally satisfied with my pump also. I hope most of the other members that got in on this fabulous deal think so too.
Although I did start this, I feel most of the credit must go to Richard.

He did email tonite about the Adjustable Auto Shut Off Kits.

I now have the adjustable kits and have put them on line.
I will leave them at $36 cdn for the next 14 days for anyone to purchase. Then they will go to $54. Which will be the regular price.
Hope this will make people happy.

Thanks
Richard

Finally got a chance to fill my AT44-10. Plugged it in and it just made a humming noise (valves were open). After turning it on and off about 5 times it finally started. I didn't time it but it filled the gun very quickly (I don't have a tank). Temp got up to 50 C. Hopefully it starts better next time :-).

Hey Spaceman88,

Based on your description, I think the problem you are having with your compressor not turning over is back pressure from the remaining air in your AT44-10's cylinder. Try starting your Yong Heng with the bleeder valves open, then close them off once the compressor comes up to speed.

Cheers!

Hi Avianmanor,

Yeah, that was my first thought, but I checked both valves were open, so I'm not sure what the issue was.

Thanks, Len

Hi Len,

Perhaps you just need to run in the compressor without a load for 15 or 20 minutes to break in and loosen things up a bit. I'm sure if there is some kind of problem with the unit, Richard will look after you. Please keep us posted.

Cheers!

Aaron

I'm hoping it just needs a bit of a break in. It probably only ran for 2 minutes or so to take the gun from 500 to 3000 psi.
