so here's the deal

I fire a shot or 2 then the whole co2 cartridge empties, I'm guessing the valve is sticking open.

I took the valve out and everything seems to be working as it supposed to. any
suggestions would help.

tigertrout,

Is there a BB or two trapped in the loading nozzle (gas tube) of the blow-back mechanism in the slide?

This may help:

If you have the slide off of your x five check the two screws at the back of the blow-back breech (right under the rear sight. Snug those up to take the play out of the blow-back mechanism.

Cheers!
