Not restricting debt- or even restructuring debt.

They are filing for protection from their creditors, and that is serious.

What they owe is more than their assets.

Never been much of a fan of theirs, but they are somewhat oversized with extra portfolios of DuPont/Alliant and Marlin Firearms Co.
If memory serves correctly it's the Alliant Group that is in actual control.
Marlin was actually in deep financial straights when Rem bought them out....

I came very close years ago to buying a 700 classic in 22-250, and now wish that I had...

Yup I should read before I post. I had thought I read they were restructuring but it fact a reorganization under chapter 11. Thank you for the correction.

Just read on the baystreet.com site that they are looking for a buyer.
Not sure who's left to take on a challenge that big, but you never know...

The marlin I got was made in the 80s, I only ever owned a couple Rem 870s. Rem are like Jeeps. Okay stock, but nobody can leave them alone.

But the last trigger recall really cost them. Funny thing was the trigger people were replacing the REM 700 triggers, Trigger Tech. Had some trigger recalls them self.

Got a guy at the Club has a new Rem R1 pistol and he says it junk. Always see it on the bench in the safe area.

Only thing that people want from them are Rem 700 and 870s. Could pull a Browning and put their name on everything.

Yup, that's for sure. Personally, my feelings is that they are going to permanently close down their NY plant, it's old and the state of NY is certainly not "gun friendly", and sink their resources into their new plant they opened up down south.

Their R51 pistol was a total flop, but their RM380 is a pretty good little pocket pistol. I was thinking on getting one, as a carry rotation pocket pistol, to add to my two Ruger LCP's.

I guess time will tell with Remmy though. We will see.

I have a few Remington's but my Favorite is 742 in 30-06

But I have new in the box FT Remington targets, probably a collector item soon.

I mean why even bring that Model 7 out? the 783 seems to be kinda the savage arms axis of the Rem. They made that electric fired rifle. Been just wasting money and producing crap. Than coming out with that box mag 870. Chinese been making clone 870 with box mags for decades AND Remington DM still was a flop.

But rem wasn't a known manufactures of carry pistols. Even their R1 pistol wasn't that great for the price. That Rp9, that couldn't been a great pistol, they went sale price under 370$. That's Canadian. Puts it in the S&W Stigma/SDVE9 price range.

They just been making crap. I bet if it wasn't for their 870 or 700 line. They would have flopped years ago.

I love my Remington 700 bolt guns, that’s of coarse model made up to the late 70’s. anything now a days is close to Chinese as it gets. I’ve done a lot of tuning to their modern products due to terrible quality control. Most their shotguns jam once they get warm. Buyer be warned! I hope they can get their business back, as they are an American legend.
