Hey guys~I was feeling a bit nostalgic a few months ago...and remembered the first paintball outings I was ever involved with. They'd go back nearly 30 years. The only guns offered at the pay-to-play fields back in the day were the PGPs and I always liked how simply they were. I didn't do much paint balling at all, but I thought one day it might be fun to track one down..even as a wall hanger.

Started my search, and found one in near-new condition. In terms of vintage, it has a plastic pump, front bead sight only. When the temperature finally got a little nice a week or so back, I grabbed my 12gr. CO2s, a new pack of paintballs from Canadian Tire (marked .68cal) and hit my buddy's farm. I experienced 2 issues...neither of which I know how to resolve with this gun;

1. The CO2 would leak after the first shot..and continue hissing/losing pressure until empty. If some oil (alone?) would remedy this, let me know what kind to use. I watched a YouTube tutorial, and it looks like you need very specialized tools to break these guns down. None of which I have.

2. The bigger issue~the paintballs rolled right out! I hit Google again and discovered that modern paintballs are made to a smaller spec than when these guns were made.

When I found such a nice copy of this gun, the idea of it only being a wall hanger kind of disappeared...but now that paint might not even be available, that might be this gun's destiny after all. I'm open to any/all input on what can be done to remedy both of these problems.

You can try pelloil or a non detergent motor oil. But depends on how long its been un used, most C02 guns of this era would be dried up. Could try dabbing some oil on the C02 before inserting it and piercing. Or drop some down the transfer port.

But sounds like it might be the main Co2 seal, because once it pierces, its leaking air, or the valve stem is stuck open.

Tools are very similar to Benjamin 310/312 etc.. You need to make a square tool and a puller.

Brings back memories of me using Dads. He was kinda a big paintballer and was in a few mags.

Ill ask pops if he remember what he used back in the day.

As for the barrel, Might be able to sleeve it for the newer balls.

Dad said all he used was a light 3 in 1 oil.

A seal kit would fix the leak but you’ll need the valve tool, I might have mine somewhere.
For the rollouts either diy dimples or sending to a paintball airsmith or the old nail polish trick.
I’ll have to track down pics but both are very similar.

When I stopped playing in 2010 the paint was in the .670 neighbourhood, however paintball size varies brand to brand and box to box.
