Sounds like quite a range. Hope they can make a "go" of it.

Looks neat. Six lanes with target transoms or whatever you call those pullies and string that let you change targets while other lanes keep shooting.

I've had the thought that an air gun range would be a good side business for one of those indoor go-karts places. The trampoline places like BounceWorld are being hit with lawsuits from injuries so maybe they can convert to AG ranges haha!

And combine it with air gun sales center.

I called this range yesterday to attain more info. 6 ports with a shooting distance of 55 feet. Auto target return and weekend shooting only as they are no longer open on weekdays. No yearly fees. It's pay as you go. The gentleman quoted a price of $40.00 an hour.

That's the problem with these walk in no club ranges. They seem over priced. Every walk in range that rents charges outrageous prices. 59.99 for firing 50rds of 22LR.

No thanks. $40 an hour is ridiculous.

Should see if you can arrange a discounted rate for airgun forum members. It'd probably be worth it for the owner to get a bunch of guys in that area coming.

I came across an ad for this place on Kijiji or something, a few months ago.
Was gong to mention it here but he following line made me not bother.
"No ammo limitations – bullets are free and unlimited – you just pay for your time."
Bullets?
Hopefully it sparks some interest, brings in a few more people into our hobby.

for $12-14 I get 500 rws r10's in 177. I do not think I could go through more than 100 quality shots in an hour although I'm sure others could do a much higher rof. The unlimited ammo at first might seem like a great deal but really it's not even with a similar quality pellet, which i'm skeptical the pellets would be. I'm all for turning a profit but their margins seem too high for me.

We've seen this before in Edmonton. Chapter 11 within two years.
- Range too short for true airgunners
- Committed airgunners know where they can shoot for NOT $40/hr.
- PAL air guns not permitted
- Prices absurd for casual dropins (maybe once, but not repeat - see below)
- Airgun enthusiasts are most likely PB users as well, and can bring any airgun to their mandatory PB range venue

I think the one in Edmonton truly might have made it if the owner weren't looking for the fast-buck turnaround, as this one is. (Non-Pal) Airgun ranges are as dead (unborn is more accurate) as computer clubs are. There's a sustainable/expandable market, but it has to be built around repeat business (no gouging) and its potential as a bonding place for people interested in shooting (partially read Dad's taking their kids to learn how to shoot). That in itself would lead to many entrepreneurial ($$$!) opportunities.

Let's see...
$40 for gas and 2+ hrs. drive time there and back from my place.
$80 for 2 hours lane rental, since 1 hour wouldn't do it if I take a few guns.
$20 for targets, since I didn't see them included in the description.
The free pellets (no bullets, thanks) are probably a lower quality bulk buy, which do nothing for my accuracy tests, nor would the short range length.
The week-end only thing doesn't help-I'd rather shoot during the week when it's less busy.
I guess being busy isn't his biggest problem...
I was looking forward to getting some details after the first post on this, but given the cost, it's looking less likely I'll go. That $140 would be better spent if I put it toward my next airgun...
