So does an air stripper work by removing the air turbulence at the muzzle or by harmonically tuning the barrel? I meticulously aligned and adjusted one and it did reduce my group size. Then I tried a lighter pellet and a lower power and found that the best setting for the air stripper was still the same! You would expect the settings to be different if it was harmonically tuning the barrel. The tail design on diablo pellets may be why they are so susceptible to this swirling turbulence.

This is an ongoing argument.... IMO there is a bit of both, but I tend to think the removing (stripping) some of the air turbulence from behind the pellet does actually occur and by optimizing the gap can improve accuracy to some degree....
