Ive also got a bunch of the long barrels in now with the front sight and barrel band included, though I'm temporarily short of barrel bands. (only two left).
Here is the full kit with mag, stock, pistol, long barrel, front sight, and barrel band.

Choose the third option for the long barrel.

Well, I found out these long barrels are really increasing the speed too much. Obviously the Chaser is wasting a lot of co2 in pistol format and just blasting it out the barrel cause its way over legal limit with the long barrel.
I'll have to trim the hammer spring on these to get just under 500fps with 14.3gr. The gun can shoot lighter pellets in pistol format to get back up to higher velocity. I'll tune then show a string with 14.3gr in long barrel format and 13.4 gr in pistol format.

Anyway, I've got this toned down some, shooting 50 shots right around 500fps with the long barrel, before it drops, nice and consistent too, even using the magazines and only taking enough time to load and aim and write down the chrony results. Shot 50 was still in the 490's then 51 was 484, shot 52 -477fps.
The short barrel is only getting 40 shots, so co2 is blasting out on that short barrel and I found it very hard to get the chrony to read even standing back quite a ways. It was shooting between 450 and 420 fps with the 14.3gr. I started with 13.4gr air arms then couldn't get the chrony working so switched to crosman to try keep more of the co2 contained behind the heavier pellet.

Nice amount of shots! Especially with the long barrel.

Any chance of the pistols can be tuned to just under 500fps like the 2240 platform or are they too new to know yet? Perhaps a 12" barrel ? A scoped pistol carbine repeater would be nice for grouse if the fps can be boosted. What OD are the factory barrels?

The crosman barrels can be converted for this gun if you have a lathe.

The barrels are 12mm but they have a section that goes into the breech that is thinner. I'll get one later to check the diameter.

Would want 2289 1789 length barrels as the 10.1" crosman are too short. BTW anyone have a source for crosman barrels?

All Canadian source have the Crosman barrels... But looks 18 inches sizes are out of stock everywhere, and 14/22inches are in stock...

Pick a store close to you to save shipping money and shipping time...

The Chinese never really make anything just right, seems it would have been more intelligent to make the barrels 7/16" in diameter[Crosman compatible] and the sights tall enough on the pistol to be visible with the magazine in? One could shim the rear and make a taller front but why in the first place? Could the action be opened up to take Crosman barrels ? Barrel bands could also be offered with or without rifle sights. From the factory get go @ 480fps+ would be desirable.

Is there any patent etc for the barrel size, designs etc?

Anyway they are two different brands and manufactures, design anything should not be exactly same except that's a common standard , right?

Not intended to sound critical but if the Chaser barrel dia is 12mm except where it enters the action perhaps this can be opened up to 7/16 /11.1125mm unless the small end is over this dia already thus taking advantage of ready available Crosman barrels.. Then using various barrel lengths get up near 500 fps. It would be interesting to see the velocity differences between a 14" and 18" barrel.Understandably others purposes for buying this platform may differ from mine. And an anatomically correct stock for cheekweld when scoping.

A P-35 style stock that doubles as a holster would be cool on the shorter barreled version with a less Star Wars grip angle.

Scopes and ammo has been pretty good for the XX type bbls.
Haven't had trouble getting 24" in both .177 and .22.
The new Discovery style bbls aren't as tight as the older 22-60 type, and will take a bit of accurizing.

Just found this thread now. Was over at gunsmith today selling my last of eight Excalibur crossbows and we got into pellet gun talk. Told me he just got a new pistol and did not think he liked it. He showed me and said if I wanted it he would sell it to me for $100. cash. I ran to the bank and then brought the .22 Diana Chaser home. In minutes I was busting holes in the middle of the targets. Wow nice pistol. Think I am going sell five or six pistols I don't use anymore. A lot quieter than my 2240. CHEERS!
