I know there are some magazines that the .30 cal pellet I designed for NOE won't fit, and there have been some guys saying they would like a bit lighter pellet.... Here is a shorter design that I would like to submit to Al for a Group Buy, but before I do, I want to make sure it will fit all, or at least most, of the PCP mags. out there....

Please measure your mags. and let me know if this will work for you, and the make and model of gun.... The head is exactly the same as the current 59-66 gr. NOE .30 cal pellet, but the skirt is shorter.... The plan is to use the same three base pins.... If you don't give me the length information on your mags. it will be too late after the tooling is done and the moulds are in production to complain....

Looks really nice Bob!
I like the variable weight option. Is that done with different punchs?
Nose pour eh?
Keep up the good work man!

HI Walter, LTNS.... Hope all is well with you !!

Yes, they are nose pour, and the mould comes with 3 sets of base pins to produce the different base depths.... In fact, Al Nelson at NOE has supplied a 4th pin with the existing .25 and .30 cal moulds to produce a solid base as well.... but I have not found them to work well in any gun I have tried yet.... they seem to spiral out past 50 yards.... So far I have had the best results with the two lightest pellets in each caliber....

OK, change of plans here.... I talked to Al this morning, and he would prefer to make a second .30 cal mould with more difference in weight from the existing moulds, with no overlap in the weights between the designs, so I have done another drawing of the new shorter version....

Image

When I was talking to Al I mentioned the FX magazines being too short for even this design, and he said he spent a couple of days talking to Frederik of FX and apparently they designed the FX guns around the JSB pellets, and since he doesn't want to go "head-to-head" with JSB he suggested that we go this route, even though they won't fit the FX without using a single shot tray.... I am pretty sure that this pellet will fit any PCPs other than the FX, so this is likely what we will proceed with.... However, we would still like your input, so please share your opinions.... The current .30 cal pellet, which is 1.5 calibers long and weighs 59-66 gr. would still be produced.... so there would be two .30 cal moulds available from NOE....
