I'm looking for a quick sight picture using iron sights so am trying out a set of these...compared to the Ruger V-notch blade.

If they added a fine cross hair it would be perfect. You could try fine fishing line tacked in place with hot glue to try. If you dont like it, it would be easy to remove.

with peep sights your eye automatically centers the front sight in the aperture so for speed shooting they should be quick

for precision type shooting I'd use a square notch match sight or a scope

Ok, I see what you mean. Fast draw type of shooting, like with a race gun. But open site instead of red/holographic site.
