Hi folks, just bought a Daisy 1894 at a gun show, it was lying underneath a pile of gun stocks and various parts. Paid a VERY reasonable price for it.
Got it home, cleaned it up, mostly covered in sawdust and oil, a real mess. Underneath was a near pristine fully functioning 1894 BB rifle. At 40 feet (the basement) I can put bb's into the 10 ring, no problem. It has lots of power, everything works, no dents or scratches, and the finish is near new.
It was however missing the saddle ring attachment as well as the ring. I fashioned a ring and an attaching piece in the workshop, and am about to attach it into the little square holes on the left side of the receiver. My question is, how hard is it to remove the left receiver cover ? Will I be left with a pile of springs and seals flying out if I remove the cover ?
Cheers

Before you start to disassemble it, contact Rob @ R&R Air Gun Repair. He is a Daisy repair centre, and has the Daisy part. It does not require you to take the receiver side off. He replaced one for me, on a Sears/Daisy 1894 Yellow Boy. All you do is push it into the square holes. Rob has been servicing my collection of six various types of the Daisy/Winchester/Sears 1894 for a number of years. He took over the business from a long time Daisy authorized repairer.
