Hello All,

I've been lurking for quite a while with a couple of posts but have never done the formal introduction so thought I'd fix that and say Hi! from Burlington, ON.

I came back to this interest after finding my old Slavia 630 (made in '83) my dad gave me when I was wee lad when cleaning out my parent's house after they both passed away. The same feeling came over me seeing it again after so many years as when I first held the rifle and he showed me how to handle it - some nice fond memories. I went out and bought some cheap CPHPs wondering how it would handle after 30+ years and I was surprised that it stayed in great condition and fired perfectly and was still incredibly accurate with zero maintenance. In fact, I did some chrony testing at it was right around 500 fps. Very impressed.

So of course, I have added a few more to the collection (TX200, LGU Varmint and the latest an LGV Challenger). These will leave the stable soon to make room for new ones but that old Slavia, that has a permanent spot.

Mike

It's so touching my heart especially I am not young any more and have my kids and thinking one day how I should teach them about shooting although my dad never have a chance to introduce this hobby to me ( he doesn't shoot...).

Welcome to the forum!!

Thanks Lauchlin and YepYep for the warm welcome.

Yes that rifle seems to hold a special spot for many of the members here. Coming across it again has also opened up the wallet too! :D

Welcome to the forum Mike! Glad to see the old Slavia is dear to the heart [emoji813]. Hope to catch you one day at the shooting range in Burlington. I'm an hour away from your home town.

I think Slavia had a very big impact on many Canadians. My first air rifle from the 70's, was a Woolco (pre Wally World) Slavia model 20. Pretty sure they shot well over 500.

Wonder how the new generations will find their way unless they are all 14 year old lawyers.

That would be great!
I just joined the Burlington range after waiting almost a year. Well worth the wait and happy to shoot so close to home.
