If you have an airgun that is PAL rated, do you need to store your pellets in a locked container?

I just recently went through this in my PAL course and on here. Pellets aren't considered ammo as they are not powder burning. Any Pal rated gun needs to be locked somehow. Since pellets aren't ammo, they can be stored with the gun.
