Purchased the full Diana Chaser kit. The pistol is one sweet shooter nice in the hands and love the bolt on the left.
In pistol mode the single shot tray is best as the magazine is in the sight picture. Only niggles was the feel of pellets in the breech leade. So pulled barrel and gave it a treatment. Breech got the reamer to clean up the rough transfer port. I like free bore in such a way that the rifling is beyond the tp just so. Polished up then muzzle crown. Faced off the countersunk job at 90 degrees. Once back to fresh rifling a polish with emery and ball gets it finished nicely.
Much better! So did the same to rifle barrel. Mounted red dot halo site and but stock. Having great fun sofar.
Thank you Wes for affordable quality airguns!
Cheers

Fun little guns. The trigger can be improved quite a bit. There is a sweet spot with the adjuster screw, and it doesn't take much turning to find it. Replacing the tension spring with a lighter one will help matters even further. Properly adjusted, this is one of my favourite triggers.
Got a few details and pix on turning down the leade by reamer to freebore just past the t/p?

Thanks for photo's, Walter.

Looks a lot simpler than I thought. I had envisioned something with a pilot.
Are you turning by hand, or using a lathe- or hand turning on a lathe?

Had a look at Pacific and Clymer for reamer pricing. A bit more than I was expecting...

Barrel in lathe chuck
Homemade reamer in tailstock
Works great

I have this kit on order. I was cautious as the only complaints I read were related to
problems with the Magazines jamming/not indexing properly.

I believe Walter's solution will solve this problem... (Well done Walter)

For those of you who don't have a lathe, the alternative is to use a 5.5mm drill bit
and some caution (low rpm) with a cordless drill.

Reeves demonstrates this process on YouTube here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pLAApWSxw-E&t=332s

Btw: It seems the Chaser is much quieter in rifle mode than pistol;
the video reveals the pistol still has plenty of bark even with the moderator attached.
Is this video a true representation of the noise level..?

It is definitely quieter in rifle mode. I apologize for the full kit being out of stock. I've got everything but the barrel bands and for some reason my fedex order from snowpeak never gets shipped out. I keep asking and it somehow never happens. Soon! They've been very good so I shouldn't complain, just too bad I've got all these long barrels and no bands for them.

I just wish I had visited your Web Store before I shelled out:

$119.00 US Diana Chaser Kit
$19.88 US Shipping
$16.00 US International Brokerage Fee
$5.45 US International Customs Duty

Total: $157.43 US ($207.83 CND)

As you can tell; I wanted this kit Bad...!
Most of the Overhead is due to UPS and their punitive/exorbitant fees.
The Vendor has to assume some responsibility for selecting them as their carrier too.

I can't really bitch; this kit sure beats the Crosman 2240 and the Long List of mods
and upgrades I was planning on assembling that would have amounted to $400 CND
by time had a finished Back Packer Gun...

You have a great selection in your store Wes; in particular your inventory of Discovery Scopes
is the best I have seen. I have the VT-T 4.5-18X44 SFVF FFP but you are tempting me with the
Discovery Grimlock FFP 6-24×50
The 36mm Ocular Lens should fit the Cell Cam Scope Mount that came with my VT-T :)

I am fighting the urge to put that Artemis LR700W Pumper Rifle in the Cart.
It looks like the Magazine and Dovetail Rail would make it tough to mount any Discovery Scope...(sigh)
We will be doing business in the future Wes...soon :)

Thanks! Yeah a fairly short breech on these. A couple dovetail to Picatinny adapters fixes that. I've got them in my dropshipping store but I've started ordering all those little products to have on hand here I. Canada. Some are on. The way.
Thanks,
Wes

I am having a good experience with the 700 W pumper.

I think if one were able to find "skinny" 30 mm rings for the Kandar/Discovery series scopes, life would be a lot easier. Those big 4x4 rings take up quite a bit of the rail.

Image

Burris high profile 1" rings. Scope is a banner 3.5-10X. Note placement of rings on rear section of breech rail. Works well enough to get proper eye relief....
That breech is the same profile as the chaser, which I have...

I confess, I have never seen rings configured in such a way;
adapt and overcome eh Doc.

Running the single shot tray..?
I imagine you keep one hand on the pistol grip for pumping?
Good news is, you only have to pump 5x unlike the 10x of the Crosman 13xx series :)

I want one; I haven't had a pumper in 30 years...

I is an admitted stock crawler

All kidding aside, that's actually a nice set up, and works well from my standard kneeling shooting position.
I like the s/s tray, mostly because it's what I'm accustomed to. Kind of leery of hunting with the stormrider mag on the gun. There are a lot of willows and other growth to get into trouble with where I hunt. Rifle is very accurate with-in reasonable a/g ranges e.g. 20 yds or so. Set up shown is currently zeroed for 15 yds.

Quite a bit more on this rifle in the review section of this forum...

It's a credit to your character that you are able to laugh about this lauchlin;
I guess it's that, or cry...

This brings up an excellent point; how is parts availability in North America?
Considering all the different Re-Brands of this Chinese line, has there been
enough market penetration to ensure parts/mods/upgrades are readily available?

I bought the Chaser Kit thinking it was all I needed out of the box, but now
it occurs to me...what if..?

This should have occurred to me when I had so much trouble sourcing
a couple of magazines to go with my order. The Vendor had no magazines
for the Chaser/Stormrider/Dragon Fly/CP1/Artemis/SMK/Etc
AGS to the Rescue...even with the Postal Strike the 2 Magazines landed before the Chaser Kit has..!
(Thanks for the Excellent Turnaround)
Btw, it appears Wes at Airgun & Archery Fun is down to his last magazine too as it only allowed me
to put 1 magazine in the Cart...

How long before your new Sear arrives lauchlin?
