The gun is a new one?

Did you use a flash light to check if seeing any thing abnormal about the seals etc from the spot you put in the co2?

Did you use a drop of pellgunoil on the co2 tip before putting it in?

The leaking was finished suddenly in a time or leaking slowly?

Did you tighten the co2 properly and fast enough?

...... I guess it's actually no seal in it? So after the co2 was penetrated, it's just 'ssssssiiii.....'

Where did you see the white mist coming out?

Try take a close look to see if you can find anything?

Attached is a pic of my CP99 pellet gun co2 compartment. I don't have the CX4 but I believe every co2 guns will looks similar at this part.... Image

CX4 is the one that uses 88 gram CO2 that is threaded? probably the rubber seal might need to be reseated and it probably got missed aligned during removal and installation of the bottle.

The CX4 uses an O-ring that fits around the neck of the 88g cartridge, not like most 12g carts that press against a seal at their end.

Thing is, when a cart is in the gun there are several other internal O-rings that are under pressure as well as the one around the neck of the cart.

You should be able to get a peek at the cart sealing O-ring by shining a light down where the cart goes in.

Here is a look at the O-ring co2 cart seal in the CX4. It is the orange(?) ring in the image. Sorry for the out-of-focus image - best I could do. Your eye does a better job. Get a look in there with a bright light and you should be able to see any damage.
