Got one and the gun won't hold air. When cocking and trying to close the slide, there is always a sound coming/leaking from I don't know where. Tried to change the o-ring on the piston part but still the same. Is there any o-ring aside from the air port and the piston which need to be changed?

Probably leaking from the valve.

Honestly I don't try and fix these. I got 1 working and 2 for parts.

There are two o-rings on the firing valve, one that seals the stem and another that rests against the seat:

Yep, I remember I followed this guy to work on my P17. And the P17 is the first one and so far the only one gun I stripped down to this level and put it back together...

Not a very difficult job.

But if you really like this gun, go for a HW40 which will give you much much better over all quality. Using the extra time in shooting is better than working on the gun.

Thanks for this. I think I can repair it (hopefully haha) before it goes to the trash. I got this one because of the many good reviews but if worse I can't repair it I have a pp700sa in 177 coming from Web. I think pcp's are much easier to work on .

You are right ~ although I already gave my P17 to a friend as a part gun as I met a problem I can't fix anymore and always toast the gun on fire, I will still give 4.5 stars to this gun over 5 stars ~

You will never ever find a gun shoots this accurate at this price range ~ and except the built quality, everything the P17 just works so well and opened a whole new world to me to spend more money in this hobby ~ [emoji38]

Don't forget the inlet hole in the compression tube. It often has a burr that cuts the O-ring so it may have cut yours first thing. It's easily the #1 issue with these guns so fyi. I use a Dremel with a tiny ball bit to smooth the radius of the hole, which is where the issue is. Then follow with a rubber grit ball to smooth it out enough for the O-ring. I also take 320-400 sandpaper rolled up super tight like a toothpick so I can get it in the hole to reach where the ball won't. If you don't have a dremel then that may be your only option.
You need to get down in that hole b/c when the O-ring passes over it it kinda squirts into the hole. Point being a burr half way down in there can still get it.
Also; the guns usually have dead air space between the piston and valve so putting some shim on the piston face will help bump power. You can also mod the valve for better flow. I have instructions and pix for those and other mods in my partially finished guide if you want it; chevota at hotmail.
There is one other o-ring pinched in where the comp tube meets the valve body. Apparently a few have had it leak there so to narrow it down you can check with dish soap and water.

I used to own an HW40. After 16,000 problem free shots I sold it to a friend. Soon I missed this wonderful pistol and bought a P17 as a replacement. When it worked it worked very well. Work is the keyword here, I worked on the P17 all the time. Every 300 to 400 rounds pressure was lost within 3 to 5 seconds of pumping it up. I am very good now taking it apart and putting it back together, can do it almost blindfolded. Finally I gave up, fed up repairing the pistol rather than shooting it. I ordered a new HW40 and put through 2,500 rounds so far, problem free. In my opinion, money well spent.

Funny thing: After ordering the HW40 I resealed the P17 one last time. It has been fine the past 800 rounds, lasting longer than ever before...

Same case here ~

I got my P17 first, then a HW40. Then because of I already started repairing the P17, I bought a P3 from Mr.Marvin as a backup one too however it looks unnecessary at all ~ the quality of the HW40 is SO reliable!
