You did well going with the round bbl. Was looking at the octagon versions at Cabela's, and there's a bit too much rounded off flats for my taste. Not a fan of over zealous soft wheel polishing....

Chiappa has a nice clone of the old pre-A 39 Marlin short rifle with standard tube out now. I is sorely tempted....

Nice gun! Biggest regret of my life was selling my Browning short lever action .22 that I bought new when I was 14. More than 40 years ago now and today the same gun in the gun pricing books are worth $750.

man those guns are beauties. I wish I had my pal because I,d have the golden boy one with the large loop lever. I saw a guy on you tube shooting one. what a nice gun. way to go rws and walter. I,m jealous.

I had one as a teenager years ago but traded it for a shotgun. Last year I saw the large loupe on sale at Cabalas and just had to have it. Awesome guns!
