I was referring to the higher powered air rifles only.

I would think performance would drop off to uselessness (too slow) before a heavier peĺlet would damage a non pal air rifle. On the other hand, the very light 5 gr. Non lead pellets might still be akin to dry firing the gun. (Dry firing is firing without a pellet) Shooting just a fibre cleaning "pellet" is the same as dry firing your rifle.

Re-reading the thread owners starting thread shows why we were talking about high powered air guns. These were what he had ordered, thus the discussion to get speeds down to where the guns would be more accurate.
