That shot string shows just how over-sprung the hammer is for C02!

You wouldn't want to fill the tube beyond 1500 psi, so ideally you'd want to clip coils so that velocity peaked around 1100.

Adjusting the hammer spring is a pain on QB's, it's my only real beef with the platform.

True it is annoying, til you do the cock on open mod and add a hammer spring adjuster.
I wouldn't discount shooting it as a pcp though if you're not worried about keeping it in the 500fps range. I've built a couple low power pcp from cr600w tubes and they were tunable to get a pile of shots in the 470-500fps range. It's a matter of getting the port and hammer spring right.
But if you are shooting indoors, the simplest method is just to attach a bulk fill cylinder with a remote line, for sure. =)
