Would be interested if you could share the information you got with this forum.

What other forums did you use? Am sometimes looking for answers that can't be found on this forum.

I'm a member of a few good airgun groups on facebook , Lots of knowledgable fellas on there that confirmed the useage of non detergent 30 wt oil . Air Rifle Enthusiasts is a good group as well as Crosman poorman mods . Alot of the guys on the air rifle enthusiasts group are from the U.K. where airgunning has a much larger following than here in Canada

Just my two cents. But crosman pellgun oil is pretty much mercon 5 tansmission oil. I use it in all my guns with identical results as crosman pellgun oil on my guns. No damaged orings, hard to pump guns etc. Just beautiful operating air guns [emoji16]

Yes Ace that is right i got clean info from you guys also
and i thank the guys that decided to give good info instead of just spouting off because they didn't have the knowledge themselves. If those guys want to keep using overpriced pelgun oil they are welcomed to it but i will be taking all the good advice I got and going with the Non detergent 30wt from now on . Muchly appreciated

How long would a small container of engine oil or trans. fluid last the average airgun user. I ask because I bought 3 tubes of Pellgun Oil about 3 or 4 years ago on sale, and still have about 1 & 1/2 left.

Let it go, please -- all of you. Snarking at each other makes for unpleasant reading.

Or just buy the Pellgun Oil for $4.99 @ Cabela's

I find a tube last more than a year & I use a drop on every CO2, as well as on seals that are starting to leak a little.

Just takes one seal issue to lose all of the saving of using something else.

I would ask a qualified airgun repairer what they think.

But again, if you go ahead, please keep us posted. And not just in the short term. Would be more interested in the long term effect over a # of years.

Plus shipping, if you are not close. A L of 30 WT ND cost me like 9$. At a rural hardware store. And has more uses.

Actually the MSDS for pellgun oil is... 8430 Monolec GFS Engine oil

Leon Yrag,

I just use a pin to make a very small hole at the top of the Pellgun Oil tube. That way it does not leak as much, as when you cut open a bigger hole.
