Is Beeman QB Chief PCP the same as Beeman QB78 except for the air reserve barrel being longer? Are they interchangeable? Triggers, stock and internals the same and interchangeable? Thanks for response. CHEERS!

Unfortunately no. The chief has a shorter back end, shorter breech. It has a bigger diameter tube as well, so different hammer, different valve. Trigger is only thing the same, pretty much.

You're welcome. The Gauntlet is much more interchangeable with the Qb78.

I was just wondering. Nothing happening right now. Got some other pieces to put in place first for one I have. Still waiting on my connection hose for QB78S. Going above zero degrees for the next couple days so if I feel energetic I will shovel my roof and I can open attic door and shoot it. Only put about 60 shots through it since I bought it with CO2 Caplets. That is if I am not out fixing flooded basements or something silly like that. CHEERS!

Put out the call for my troops this morning and my two sons showed up and got my roof shovelled off and snow where I wanted before the rain tomorrow. Gave me some shooting time with my full power stock QB78S. Get exactly 74 good shots at 30 feet before loss of power on double CO2 Caplets. Did it twice and counted out pellets before I shot. Pretty happy with that round count. Excited to get it up and running on bulk fill when my last piece finally comes in. Got my tank sitting at 3000psi just waiting to be connected. :D If to long before it arrives I will need my roof shovelled again so I can open attic door for longer distance.   Kinda odd that no one else is shovelling off their roof today.

 One son is a carpenter and may get him to build me a dormer in the spring so I can get the official 10 meters for shooting.

Simba (older Beagle), Rumba (cause he eats like a vacuum cleaner) And Wicked Lester (had to follow the band KISS at registration) for Bloodhound but we call him Lester.

For me, the Gauntlet has 1 bad aspect, the hard bolt movement, however has a few good things going for it.

The trigger was easy to get down to 1 1/2 pounds, just through screw adjustment. My .22 Gauntlet used inexpensive Mrod

10 shot magazines. The rifle is also easily converted back and forth, from 9 or 12 oz. CO2 tanks to the high pressure,

regulated stock tank. Even that one, a tiny tank at that, will put out 64 shots into the same group. The next 10 shots from

my rifle, drop out 1/2" low at 8 o'clock, but still, at 20 yards, will be inside a 1" round circle with the previous 64 shots, so virtually

74 shots from a fill.

The 12oz. CO2 tanks, well, I don't know how many shots. I've been shooting one for 2 months indoors, twice a week and it is still about

or over 1/2 full. The boys on U-tube said 500 to 600shots.

That's pretty sweet!
I bet a little lighter hammer spring could fix the cocking and give you some more efficiency, but I could be wrong. =)

On a QB Chief can one get a 1200psi output regulator and run a tank open and as gun needs more air just take it in from tank as needed? in other words tether a tank to the gun.

Sure, would be really easy. Remote line attached to the chief quick connect and to the 1200psi regulated bottle.
