Rather then ruining that BB thread ,with BHP talks. Figured start a new one.

I'm not joking when I say they are garbage. I carried one overseas, and in Canada. I personally owed 2 myself (Browning and a FEG ) The ones in the CF are poorly maintained. They get stored w/o the barrels, barely any springs get changed in them. They get transported by throwing them in a milk crate, jostled around, banged together etc.

They don't always get taken out and test fired. I know I worked in the weapon vault for a bit. You find out they don't work, when you need them.

They have brand new ones in storage but they never put them into service. They will just get cut up for scrap. Alot of them don't work because how they are handled, maintain, stored.

About what I was expecting to hear, and a bit more...

Will repeat that the Belgian I had lengthy experience with was a good one, and it took serious effort to get it to jam.

I think if the army fellas were issued factory new Belgian builts with adjustable rears, the story would be a whole lot different...

Read somewhere that these had varying places of manufacture, but the preferred gun was always the Belgian....

Retired W/Officer I worked with in Corrections through the 80's and 90's, liked his P35(?) so much (he finished off his career at Baldy Hughs a radar/Norad site near here) bought his own, Browning.

It was ok, but low shot count - 9, seems to me & only a 9mm, of course. We used to have fun at the jail range up on the hill above the jail. I'd have my .45 1911 with 11 round extended mags.,

so 12 with one up the spout and him with the 9mm and 10 rounds. We'd hold the grip and shove the other index finger into the T-guard, then wiggle it back and forth as fast as possible. Sounded

like Full Auto fire, echoing back out of the gravel pit, where our training range was located. Used to really excite one of the shift commanders - bit of a dweeb and seemingly anti gun, although he

did hunt, once. Used to upset the inmates working outside gangs as well. Of course none of them were near us. They'd ask their supervisors who were running the outside gangs, who that was and

they'd just say, oh - Mr. Sapergia testing our new riot guns.

Sights were not really the issue. And even if they had adjustable sights. The way they were transported. They would get all knocked out of zero. I wasn't joking about throwing them in a milk crate.

Would you take all your airguns, throw them in a milk crate, then throw that in back of a truck?

Dunno how to come up with a 9 shot mag for the Hi-Power.

Mine, and all of the variants I have seen were 13+1, hence the Hi-Power moniker.

9mm may be a bit small... I still would not want to be on the business end of one~ not even a squib.

I think you're talking about the Radom P35. Which had a 8 +1 mag. Browning Hi Powers were 13+1.

OK- trying to remember back to the 80's - thought they were 9 - but now kinda recall 13 - maybe?
John's was a Browning P35, still seems to me it was 9 - guess not.

Annoying part was. We had to carry them unloaded. So nothing like pistol jamming, trying to chamber a round.

Why I'll be happy if they switch to the Glock. No feedlips to get damaged, when you throw 100 mags in a milk crate. No mag safety. So no inserting a mag into the firearm, for the hammer to drop.
