Discovery owners might be interested in this. I was having poi problems with my brother;s Disco and I read on GTA about a member shimming his barrel so I thought maybe I could do the same.
I removed the barrel which had a bit of play in the breech, just enough that I could get a piece of aluminum drink can the length of the breech where the barrel sits, I made it just wide enough that I could still insert the barrel easily. Anyone know if the aluminum will become a problem down the road ?
While I had the barrel out I also smoothed out the breech end of barrel where the pellet enters as other people have done. These two things have made a big differace with the accuracy of the rifle, along with a smooth travelling hammer.
I also made an internal telescoping SSG version of Bob's SSG. It took some time to make using my drill press and angle grinder but it works good. Also made a new end cap to adjust externally.
Shot string using AA 8.4 gr fields.

So around 35 decent shot out to 50yrds. I will have to check when it warms up. 2000 psi to about 950psi.
Here are some pics of 12 and 20 yard groups, these were shot after the barrel was cleaned and right after the shot string. The gun was probably shooting around high 870's. I used the rest to try and eliminate most of the shooter error except for me pulling the trigger.

Nice. thought about buying one. Nice numbers. But must say you win on the most unique targets. Have not seen them on Amazon.

Thanks wheeliehd, those targets are from empty drink can boxes, they show the pellet hole clearly and I have a steady supply. :)

Nice to see Crosman has woken up to their .177 bbls.

The last .177 bbl I had here was cut for a Disco rather than 22-60, and needed a 40" pattern board to contain the groups.

Nice shooting! Not sure about bbl/breech fit- something I've never really checked, at least with the 17-22/60 bbls.

I use the standard XX steel breech.

The barrel would have fell out on it's own after I loosened the set screw, definitely affected accuracy. I forgot to mention I moved the barrel band ahead closer to the muzzle which should also help, I should probably get another one for the breech end.

That's all I use. Being rural, a lot of my items get shipped in. So I just rip off a piece of cardboard, slap a circle sticker and goto town.

Yeah they just get thrown away, might as well have holes in them.
