This is my first pellet gun review, pls excuse the quality.
Non-PAL Artemis CR600W/Diana Stormrider PCP .22 calibre, with Altaros Regulator review.

1. Distance to target: 10.4 m
2. Bench with Rest
3. Target Bull's Eye diameter: 1 cm
4. 5 shots per target
5. Test Pressure (per gauge on rifle): 180 bar ~ 70 bar
6. Regulator pressure: 100 bar
7. Scope used: Discovery VT1 3-9X40 AO
8. Pellet used: JSB Jumbo Straton 15.89 g

This rifle was purchased from WesB, who gave great after sales service/advice. The rifle is non-PAL, tuned to shoot under 500 ft/s. The barrel was cleaned with degreaser then lubed with WD40 which was found by me to condition the barrel very well.

Test result:

Between 130 bar~95 bar, 50 shots in 5 shot groups (except for a couple of flyers) are all on the 1 cm bull's eye.

180 bar to 135 bar the shots are hitting lower, same as below 90 bar, which are to be expected.

At 75 bar, the chrono showed 450 ft/s. I believe although not chrono tested, the pellet speeds should be around 480~490 ft/s between 130 bar to 95 bar. I will confirm that next time, when I get a better chrono.

The Altaros Regulator unlike the Lane Regulator did not require drilling to fit in the pressure tube. Based on the rifle gauge readings, I believe its function is more like a buffer than a true regulator for the valve intake, as the gauge basically still reads the pressure of the compression tube.

That is pretty nice shooting!

The Artemis .22 bbl that I have on my 700 W pumper is very accurate.
It likes the 16 gr polymag predators quite a bit.
I will get some JSB heavy domes in to do a proper test in that bbl as well.

The 3-9X Discovery is a nice little scope. I like mine a lot.
Looks like you are getting a mild curve in your velocity there, which is very good news.
I have been considering one of the 600 W's for a while now. Last time I looked, they were sold out...

Thanks Doc for the nice feedback, you are right the .22 barrel iss accurate. I have a non-PAL Artemis CR600W CO2 from WesB as well, it is shooting just as accurately but only for 30 shots for each cartridge.[emoji24]

Thanks for sharing! Great results, looks like that pellet does really well in that barrel.
The new batch of PCP CR600W I have coming will have the lane regulator, in place of the gauge, but will have the gauge in the end of the tube like the PP800 Rebel, so you'll still be able to see the true pressure in the tube.
Looks like that altaros regulator is working really well in yours.
Thanks,
Wes

Hi Wes, You are hard on one's bank account. I am definitely interested in one with Lane regulator plus the filler oressure gauge.[emoji12]

Well done. That's the best accuracy I have ever seen with a pointed pellet.
How do they do further out, like 20 or 25 meters?

Hi, thanks for asking. I will go to a friend's country home to try longer distance in 2 to 3 months. It is too cold to shoot outside now.

This is very interesting Wes, just wondering is the pp800 series air tube the same size as the crosman 2240, it looks very close for me, how about the thread ?

The tube size is pretty much the same. The threads are different.
Very fine threads, metric, same as the Stormrider tube.
Regards,
Wes

The tube is quite a bit longer than a 2240, I don't have a 2240 tube handy to measure but I'd say two inches longer anyway.

Does anyone know why my gauge after the Altaros regulator reads the tube pressure instead of showing regulated pressure?
Is it Altaros o-ring sealing problem? I say that because when comparing to the Lane regulator, Altaros has only one o-ring.

Strange. Regulator can't be working. Maybe it's not adjusted properly? I haven't got my altaros regs in the mail yet so not real familiar with how they work, but if the pressure is the same on both sides its not regulating.

One important tip is to fill the threads of the gun with silicone grease before installing the reg

Ok, thanks for the tip. I will replace the o-ring on the reg and try again. This time lube up the tube really well.
