After yesterday's vote, many anti-gun groups have been complaining about Bill C-71 being gutted by all the amendments made to it, however this isn't entirely the case.

I am a member of the CCFR facebook group, as well as the CCFR itself. Tracey Wilson shared a snapshot of another website outlining all the amendments made.

I commented saying "so the Swiss Arms and CZ ban is still in there, as well as the backdoor NR registry" and Tracey herself responded to me saying "yep".

So it seems that while a lot of the worst things were removed from it, there were a couple things left, which is why I don't personally consider the bill to have truly been "gutted".

I had a great experience once at The Sporting Clubs of Niagara Gun Show which happens quarterly (every 3 months). I went in there selling my Mosin Nagant M91/30 for $125, managed to sell it for $100, and then I got myself a nice Bakial break barrel shotgun, says "Made in the USSR" on it, so it's a little older, but it only cost me $75, I left with $25 profit.

If this reference number for NR's passes, then not only will that be a back door registry, it will pretty much make experiences like I had no longer possible because I doubt someone will be available at a moment's notice to provide a reference number. It will kill gun shows.

I do not personally own anything by Swiss Arms or CZ, but I do not like the idea of people's property being arbitrarily taken from them, or in best case scenario made unusable.

As far as the handgun ban goes, it seems that won't happen until after the election, so that's a good sign, because if this buffoon get's in again, then Canadians must be really stupid.

I sent emails to 100s MPs, Members of HOC ETC. Many times, over the many months since C71 came into the picture. With my voice, against C71, or firearm, or item bans.. I plastered a Club float with Anti Bill C71 posters. I started to to get some back. A lot of them are for C71, and some say that the changes won't last long. A few saying only first nation and hunters will be allowed to own guns. Registered of course. Its amazes me how stupid these people are.

We all knew the Long Gun Registry is still in effect. High River Alberta is an example. Only gun owners were targeted. But how did they know? The registry that was court ordered destroyed, wasn't. Quebec registry 7% complied.

A registry is already in place. CT and many other stores keep a log book of what gun they sell and to whom. When you call the CFP and verify a license. They ask for yours and the others PAL#. So they know your selling something to them. Not law for you to provide.

Ive been made a criminal several times. Without breaking any laws.

Like NZ, alot of the hunters threw the sport shooters under the bus. With many of them being ignorant and turning a blind eye. It's happening in Canada. I know many hunters, or even shooters, against restricted firearms. Trying to educate them, is like trying to educate a liberal. Like yelling underwater at a wall.

Only thing that gonna stop this, is voting them out, and hoping to get a Con majority. Without a Con majority. Nothing going to change. Its no different than When Harper won 14 years ago. Once again liberals back then wanted to ban firearms.
