Looking to purchase a chronograph, any recommendations on which one to buy? Would really like one that is wired or Bluetooth via app for easier data recordings.
Just asking because after reading some reviews on a couple that certain ones have are inconsistent or have trouble detecting the pellet (even in good lighting).
I plan to use this mainly outdoors but don't want to be limited to only sunny days.

Thanks in advance

My Shooting Chrony F-1 has served me well for years. The remote display on mine is really handy. No lighting issues outdoors, though I usually use it it indoors with a lights on the diffusers...

I use a Shooting Chrony F1 in a pretty dim basement. And I have no issues with it reading when I use LED lights.

I glued a washers to the bottom of the diffusers. So I can stick on a battery operated pod lights.

Here is my setup. Just so happened to catch a Prometheus pellet, separating in flight.

I like the little chronograph from AliExpress. Only thing is the bracket for mounting on the barrel is unprotected metal. I covered it in electrical tape, now it's a bit less dangerous for scratching.
Works perfectly inside, has its own lights. Cheap too! Doesn't have Bluetooth though.

Even with infrared lights my caldwell still gives errors half the time. Decided to switch to this little guy :D

That's weird. The day I shot 500+ pellets trying to tune my PP700SA. I might got 10, if that, Errors. With my F1 setup..

Then again, I run a laser down the stand, then line up the chrony with a template I made. So it shoots over the center every time.

That's a great idea. I have used a gun vise and still have had intermittent success, not saying it's not my fault though, I'm sure it's just a matter of doing more investigation into what is causing the problem.
Anyway this little guy works every time.

Ya, the caldwell specificaly seemed to have a lot of "errors" in the reviews. That being said could be faulty unit or not using properly. Seems like over all good unit but still looking for possible Bluetooth or wired app capabilities.

I think most will agree the Chrony (brand name) F1 is the standard by which all others are compared. They are not the cheapest option, and may not be necessary for your usage if it's for casual curiosity. If you're tuning airguns, however, many would recommend the F1 Master, which includes the proprietary designed light attachment. Some have had success with cheaper light solutions - some have not (Replica Airgun followers will have witnessed this). All I know is I rarely got a light-related false reading with my Master set-up.

ya, definately would just be for casual curiosity for personal data with my different rifles and pellets. Just looking to explore another aspect of the hobby. I definately want an app feature for the ease of logging info and records.

That's a brilliant idea. Much better than struggling with rubber bands.

I have a Competition Electronics Pro Chrony. LED lights and Bluetooth adapter available but sold separately. Not the cheapest option but in my experience has worked flawlessly.

I use LED light pucks from Canadian Tire - $5.00 seems to me and came with batteries.
The pucks already had a weak magnet, so I put rare0-earth magnets over the pucks on the plastic diffusers, to hold them in place
for indoor shooting. Works very well. Just make sure you are shooting parallel to the sky screens of you will record lower than true speeds.
The picture is demo only, not aimed at my pellet 'box', obviously.

You are an amazing shot but that chrony looks a little beat up.
