I found a Feinwerkbau 600 online available for sale. Advertised as being in excellent condition.
I contacted the fellow and after some communication discovered we only live an hour and a half apart! What are the odds of that.

We arranged to meet in person yesterday for me to view the rifle. It turned out to truly be in excellent condition. He bought it in Switzerland years ago, and was unable to use it due to medical reasons. Other than the finish on the laminate on one side fading I was very impressed. (I’ll refinish the stock at some point when I feel like it) We made our deal, visited, and I was on my way. Very nice guy, even gave me some extra ISSF targets and pellets he had leftover, thank you.

I got home and gave it a wipe down and polish and as I started to look closer, realized this wasn’t a 600, it was in fact a 601! This made it newer, and included the ratcheting cocking lever, a very nice feature. I had paid what I felt was a good price for a 600, but the 601, although in the same series, is considered a better value and is a little more sought after. I felt I had now got a very good deal indeed.

Got home late so was only able to fire maybe 10 shots... all into a hole slightly larger than a pellet. Not even having it set up for me, and being able to easily produce such a group, I’m unbelievably impressed.

Now to get some more trigger time in...

I don't know about luck as all are obtainable with some legwork, but budget makes all difference. Not the cheapest of toys... Nice finds.

Agreed, nearly anything is obtainable depending on how much money you throw at it... the luck part was really more getting a model up from what I thought I had bought and paid for. (And finding it almost in my backyard.)

Nice score there! I'm not familiar with those, is that a side-lever springer?

I haven’t put it over the chrony yet but I think it’s supposed to be in the 550fps range.

Nice score!

There was a 602 in the gun library at Cabela's here a few summers ago. Unfortunately, it was priced out of my reach, and missing the rear aperture to boot.

Gun had a slightly "forward" balance point, but shouldered very well indeed. It was equipped with a drop palm grip, and a handstop. Probly set up for serious off-hand competition of some sort of open class...

It certainly is and this all has to stop. I already blew past my budget this year. Stop teasing me into another purchase.

Fishguy. With all good comes bad. There are no more excuses why you are not punching out that center dot anymore.

Budget is just a concept, consider it a fluid, ever changing entity.... I had to sell a few things to make the last purchases work. I have very little left for the year myself and it’s only May.

No, no more excuses I suppose. I can only blame myself now for anything outside the bull.

I don’t think I got to see that one while I was still there Doc. Sounds like a serious rig.

Nice Score Fishguy!

What a beauty!

There are things that we need, and others that we want, and then there are those that we ........ desire!
