That's great! I can't remember exactly but I don't think I used an overly thick 3/4" oring for the bstaley mod. The valve stem is very short so doesn't need much that's for sure.

Thank you
I just finished turning the shoulder of the striker down to 0.495 to make sure it would clear the o-ring (s).

I Put 1 o-ring (¾ Od 9/16 Id by 3/32 It dropped my fps 23 fps over 2 magazines on a fresh cart. Gives me a bit more of a non pal buffer as it was shooting at the ahem "Edge" shooting jsb exact express 14.35's.

Looking forward to seeing how it improves shot count!

It's a vintage unimat db200 converts into a mill. Best 350 I ever spent on craiglist.

So far I have 41 shots around (465fps) with 10fps spread and then it dropped down about 30ish fps for 4 shots and I ran out of time. I'd say its working ok:)
I was using 1gr jsb exacts. I'd like to try some heavier ones next.

I'm not a big fan of really long barrels.
The stock CR 600 W barrel is 21.5 inches. In a fit of boredom I cut the barrel down to 19 inches. And then i re crowned it.
Incidentally I had to read an article that talked about CO2 expansion and that the optimal length of a CO2 rifle barrel was around 17 to 19 inches after that you may actually lose FPS.
Before I cut the barrel I put in a brand new CO2 cart get a string of five shots all around 465 after I cut and croened the barrel i put a brand new CO2 cart, FPS was up to 485 for a string of five shots..
hmmm

because I cut the barrel down that required a changeup on my airstrip or mount, It got reamed out to exactly 12 mm tight fit on the barrel.
I then decided to machine the entire unit to one diameter to make it more sleek And change some of the angles to more of a business like look ie no curves.
Image
I also re-machined the other end shroud ring.
Image
Here it is all back together just barely longer than stock.

next up adjustable comb...

I like what you did to the stock as well. Looks very nice!

Very nice! I really like it as well! Amazing work.

These don't have chokes in the barrels as far as I've seen.

Pretty much what I figured too, I ran some copper washed h&n pellets which are a very tight fit and there was no difference anywhere in the barrel. Btw the copper washed h&n were tough to load in the mag and the chamber.
I get about 25fps less with them over jsb's.

This thread been super inspiring. Amazing work ! I have a new CR600W and am exciting to make it better. I’m new to air guns and modding but I have some translatable abilities in the workshop , I just don’t want to break my gun haha.

I have a couple of questions maybe you guys can help.

I ordered this barrel band :

https://airgunarcheryfun.ca/artemis-dia ... 00-cr600w/

Will I have to remove the muzzle to put it on ? I’m a bit intimidated with that but can really see the need for the band.

Also I’ve read that a good seal test is to shoot with a drop or two of pellgun oil in the barrel and if smokes then it’s good. Is this only for springers? I did that test with my CR600W and no smoke. Although I’m very happy with the few pellets I’ve shot with it so far.

Thanks so much !

One way is to remove the front sight and slip the band on from the muzzle.
The other way is to remove the barrel, and the barrel band, then install the new barrel band and the old one, and replace the barrel. I did it the latter way at first. To remove the front sight, the easiest way as I learned from this tread, is to drill a hole just over 12mm diameter in a board or similar stiff plate (I used 3/8 plexiglas) and then drop the barrel repeated through the hole, takes about 5-7 drops and the foresight will come off. Protect the breach end, don't let it hit the floor or anything hard.

That's just for springers. Check the breach using a pice of tissue, if it blows off when firing you have a leak.
