Shooting indoors all the time is getting old .
I would really love to spend some time saving in my air rifle outside longer distances.
Does anybody have any good ideas for somewhere to shoot outdoors In the lower mainland area?

I doubt that's pretty difficult... Too many ppl, too sensitive to guns, too dangerous to you and to others... Canada is Canada, is not at all Texas... So stay away from the troubles to shoot in the clubs will be better choice ( actually it's not allow to shoot in your own house either if strictly follow the laws.... that's what I learnt so far after I got my first co2 bb gun..)

Walther - since you are in NVan. you need only to drive up towards Squamish. Lots of area around there and places North of Squamish where you can shoot to your heart's content.
Keep your P.A.L. with you & no hunting without a license.

I’m currently humming and hawing about starting a monthly Airgun night at a local metro Vancouver range. Problem is all the gun clubs are also full and waiting lists for new members as well, plus powder burners often scoff at air...

It is illegal in most metro Vancouver municipalities to discharge pellet or BB guns on private property. However some areas do have zones where it is totally fine.

Let’s get a show of hands of who here might be interested

I'm not too concerned about the district bylaws as for shooting inside my own concrete walled basement.

if I'm not hurting anybody it's none of their business what I do in my house.

I pointed it out due to you wanting to shoot outdoors. What you do in your own private residence is your own business, not mine.

Things should be like that~ but it depends on how nice your neighbors would be or how trouble your neighbor would be... If nobody reports, no one knows what are doing in your own house... But if some cheap buster call 911, more or less that will bring you some trouble... As said, 'if strictly follow the law', our property is still within the city limit, and usually the 'city limit' covers your house, inside and out, so discharging a gun is still not allowed...

Just like speeding is not allowed....

My basement is basically soundproof, neighbours don't even hear the , bass guitar, piccolo, flute , saxaphone etc that my wife and daughter play:) And it is only a DIstrict bylaw which is only a fineable offense. Using powertools makes more noise..

So, the only thing is avoid showing up your guns to anyone, so they won't even think about to notice that~

My daughter told me the noise from my springers shooting in the basement are less than closing the doors... Gives me a peace of mind...

Squamish R&G club used to be an excellent place to shoot. During the week, we had the range to ourselves
whether we were shooting handguns, rifles, shotguns or a 3" cannon.(6 pounder)
Of course, that was in the 1970's.
