All right!! It's an unexpected long wait as FedEx took 3 days to deliver it within Ontario which I was told "one day" only. Anyway, I rushed to the shipping center to pick it up right after it's availiable~

This is my first new springer air rifle, of course, it's also my first gun from Spain. It surprised me becaused the package is really long... I have to move backward my front seat to put it into my car.

It's shipped from Eric, Scopes-And-Ammo, with the reduced price it's really a good buy for such a beautiful rifle. Although it's not as good as the history lowest price posted in the forum GTA that someone got one from Amazon.com for just about 100 US$... that won't be happened again and I believe the price I got it's a super good deal in Canada. I am not sure if Eric still have some stock or not, you may just go direct and ask him if you are interested on it.

The eye catching black color beech wood stock and the nicely done checkerings on it are very attractive! You will find the black color is not a "dead black" but looks like just slightly dyed on it and you can find deeper and lighter areas brings out a very good result! And the brilliant idea to make the checkering on it just makes a prefect final matches!

But I have a question here... the checkering now looks just bare wood there... Should I apply some kind of finish on it to protect it from getting dirty and maybe can bring out a different color when the wood absorb the Tung oil or Cabot etc finishes??

The rifle is slim and long... according to the length, it feels very light, spec tells me it's about 6lbs. And it's very very long, when hold it vertically and use my poor short arm to "break" it, in order to reach the muzzle, I have to tippy toes...

Maybe due to it's detuned, although breaking the barrel open is a bit challenge to me but not on cocking the gun at all. Very easy to cock. And the auto-safety which placed just in front of the trigger is very easy to use too. The 2 stage trigger is plastic thought, it's set very well from the factory, I don't bother to "fine tune" it again and would like to keep on using it as-is. And, just out of the box, it's very accurate!! I don't think I need to adjust the sights too much either! The pellets going down the range from the Black Eagle just hit what I want every time.

So far, I made 5 shots only. Didn't see the smoke and the smell, but only found the bore is very very tight!! I almost can't load the X-Match pellet which I planned to use with this new rifle into the breech... When changed to use domed or pointed pellets, it would be loaded a bit easier but it's just keep on telling me to find the other pellets sized to 5.49 or 5.48 etc for it... My JSB Pointed is 5.52, X-match should be 5.50, and I have half tin of RS remained which is 5.52 too, and the RWS Hobby the head size is smaller than my others as it can be put into the breech easily, but the hard skirt that jammed in my HW45, I need to use a AA battery (I was not able to do that with my finger tip...) to sit it into the breech... And I also pushed through a X-Match pellet which looks good as it's a bit hard in the beginning but very smoothly afterwards and the pellet skirt was cut prefectly by the rifling...

It comes with fiber optic front and rear sights. Front sight is proteted by a hood, very good looking and very useful! Rear sight is a regular simple adjustable plastic sight. Don't like plastic at all, but it works well. And I don't have extra scope for this one now, and recently after being trained with the Victor open sights, I just have some muscle memory coming back, and I will keep on using the open sights for a while I think.

And I also noticed the cocking levers / arms looks scratch something or lack of lube or the grease is dried out... After finish cocking the gun, the barrel should be free to move right? But when moving it back and forth, I feels some metal to metal friction happens inside the tube... I will take off the stock later to do some cleaning and lubing job and to check if I can find anything... maybe it can be done at the same time I apply wood finish onto the checkering areas...

Then the other thing I don't like is when puting back the barrel, there is not a very clearly "click" or signal let me know it's being locked again on position... But from the reviews and introductions I find on the web, the Black Eagle is another "work horse"... Let's wait and see. So far, very happy on this purchase!

Can't post more pictures when posting from my desktop computer with Chrome... So some more photos are following...

While put side by side with my HW35E, you can find it actually has a much slimer profile.

For sure... So far I took some more shots but only shooting the cans to find a better fit pellet and try the power the gun. I will do some grouping and target later.

And I really realized I do need a pellet sitter for this rifle... The bore is really too tight...

And in order to break the barrel, I find out I can't hold the grip area as usual and have to hold the fore-arm position with my right hand, so that my left hand can reach the muzzle brake / front sight area ... Again, poor short arms.... Tears....

Looks like a bit of factory effort was put into that rifle to make something nice.

Congrads on a nice rifle!

Thanks D.S~

I do appreciate this kind of 'factory effort' as I am one that appreciates the details ~ just like I suddenly found a Norica icon on the hand grip bottom, it really surprised me and made me smile ~

Today I took off the stock.

Here is the trigger group and you can find a better view of the auto-safety lever here.

All the matel are nicely treated and installed together, no loose found, everything is tight and solid.

I applied some molly on the spring and the related metal surfaces.

And I also found out it's the cocking arm's end hock touching the piston stem after passed the piston to the sear and trigger group that making the feeling and noise I noticed before. It's similar like my HW45, looks it's just normal... However I applied some molly on it in order it can reduce the friction...

The checkerings are under tung oil treatment... Needs some time to finish...

After putting back the stock, I can do some fine tune to zero the sights and grouping shootings... But right now picking a pellet to feed this Eagle just makes me headache... The extra effort needed to sit tight the pellet just looks not normal but I can't tell anything wrong either.... Image

Very nice! Congrats on the unique rifle!
That is quite long, but very nice looking. Looking forward to how the tung oil stain looks.

Yeah... The size is quite long, but as it's slim actually, so didn't feel it too large. It's interesting I have to hold the middle of the gun where in front of the trigger guard to break the barrel ~

And it's not heavy at all, about the same as my HW30 (with scope) and much lighter than my 35, maybe because I have scope on the 35 and the walnut stock is heavier than the beech stock and the HW metal parts is thicker than the Spanish ones?!

So far the second coat of tung oil just been put on the stock, but looks the beech wood doesn't has the beautiful stain as the walnut, looks the tung oil only added a light yellow shines on it...

Actually it should be about 6lbs more to 7lbs ( according to the spec), but as it looks big, so feels lighter and similar to my HW30 with a 40mm size scope... Plus the cocking force is not heavy either, I never think it's a heavy gun at all...

And the recoil is not strong either. That should be benifited from the vented rubber butt pad and detuned result... Should not be hold sensitive I think... I will try to hold it with different method and check it out after I find a best fit pellet first...
