Non-PAL .22 Artemis PP800 PCP rifle review
With CR600W barrel and Altaros Regulator
Scope: Discovery VT2 3-12X40 AO
Pellet: JSB Straton Jumbo .22, 15.89g
Distance to target: 16 meters
Fill pressure: 200 Bar
Regulator setting: 75-80 Bar
Transfer port size: 2 mm

Results:
1. 5 shots per target, bulls eye diameter 10 mm. From top left to bottom right. Initial speed went from first shot at 500 ft/s down to last shot 460 ft/s.
2. All shots within the 10 mm bulls eye, except for a couple of flyers. 33 effective shots total before going off regulator with one hole accuracy. The only mod that I did was changing the original trigger with one from a BIC lighter. This allowed me to fine tune the trigger into a light and clean breaking two stage trigger, which definetely helped with the accuracy.

I would like to thank WesB for a great deal and excellent after sales service as always. This gun is fun to shoot, accurate, easy to tune and mod, excellent value. Highly recommended.

Thanks, it took me a long time to review it. Got the gun more than 4 months ago from WesB. Finally got it tuned to my liking.

My CR600W Sub 500 by Wes was very good at 40+, knocking down field target once zeroed in and lots of shot for the volume it has.

My Non-PAL CR600W PCP with Altaros gets 75+ shots. Similar accuracy as the PP800. I love this gun. The other one with Lane gets even more shots than Altaros. I find the Lane likes higher set pressure than the Altaros.

That's a fine looking rig Tom, and a great job of tuning it up to the edge, well done..!

That 13" scope doesn't look out of place whatsoever; are you using the medium or high rings that came with the scope..?

How long is that CR600w barrel..?

Shootin' Dimes...I Love it..!!!

Hi Rupertt,

Thanks, these are the high two piece rings that came with the scope. The 600W barrel is about 19" long with the muzzle brake.

I intend to take it upto 25 meters at most. My aging eyes can not see any better even with 12X magnification.[emoji24] Besides, based on actual experiment, When sighted in at 16 m, my non-PAL gun's pellet should be flying flat between 15 to 25 m, within a 1" circle.

Thanks,

Tom

Sorry Pistolero, you meant 40+ yards? That is amazing shooting with a non-PAL gun.

Yes Tom, 40+ yards and it was surprisingly easy to acquire and shoot, I'm now wondering how this will perform on a .177

Is the pellet dropped a lot at that distance? I was shooting the similar range in the train shed and found the pellets dropped about 2 inches but as the consistent of the HW30 / 35, the POI is still easy to be managed ~ so it seems the PP800 just works as good as the HWs~

And at that distance, with a scope @ 5x 6x power, I can aim objects about 2 inches big I think... I have aging eyes too... It's good that you can still shoot without seeing the blade sharp pictures~ [emoji38]

19 inches??
My cr600w was 21.6 inches.. I chopped off the part that is reduced diameter under the plastic sight which is about 2.25 inches long

Hi Walther,

I think both of my 19" barrels are more accurate than the two 21.6" barrels. You did the right thing! [emoji12]
