Yup, the CBSA and the Canadian Trade Tribunal working together to make up some bs. The trade tribunal decided that a "flipper lever/knob" of a flipper knife is by (their) definition a "device". They also determined that since a blade is attached to the handle of a knife it is part of the handle. So now all flipper knives are opened by pushing on a device on or attached to the handle... which is the definition of a prohibited automatic knife. If you can hold the blade and whip it around to open the knife then that is an illegal gravity of centrifugal knife. They can and will also depress the spring/lock to be able to flip open knives. They can make the legendary Buck 110 into an illegal item this way.

It does not matter that these knives are not illegal according to the criminal code of Canada, they are still seizing them. They also wrote into their own "laws" the ability to modify the knives to meet the requirements of an illegal item. They are allowed to loosen the pivots so they open easier. Modifying your property from the factory "settings" to make it illegal. Doesn't sound very legal does it?

On top of that if they seize something like that which is not actually illegal you are legally allowed to have it returned to sender at your cost but they are "destroying    " the knives before you even get the letter saying it has been seized leaving you with no legal recourse.

Moo ma moo moo we are managed like cattle. This keeps up we will need a travel permit to go buy groceries.
Any body got a good news story about someone giving it back and winning. I would love to hear it . No, need to hear it. Is it just me or is there just to much of this BS going on. OMG there must be a pitbull of a lawyer out there with deep pockets that could set some of this right. Over reaching ,punishing the Manny because of a few.
What can be done to stop it :?:

This is sad . I've been using a crkt flipper knife for 20 yrs at work for box opening etc.
Every time i go rving over the border I go over my camper van with a fine tooth comb to make sure Cbsa does have any excuse to seize anything.
Next thing you know they're going to be taking my bow saw , my axe and my bear bangers.

It’s the big push for socialism in this country, we are the next Sweden. Too many sheep, not enough Shepard’s.
