All sanded down and drilled.
The bolt holes was filled with Durams and redrilled with two sizes of drill bits to reform the wood shoulder the bolt sits on.

A note on the durhams is that while it dries rock hard a hole this deep takes a long time to cure. if you use this to fill a deep hole you can sand and paint within 24 hours but because I wanted to drill through it I made sure that it was absolutely dry inside and hardened. I love this stuff but it does take a long time to dry if you plan on using it for molding or sculpting. Again my dad swears by this stuff for his 60 year old wooden boat

This hatsan has a slamming piston. So much so that the scope sheared off the scope stop screw. I broke the stock while planning what to do to fix the slamming piston. I think I'll lighten the Piston by grinding some slots in it in the hope that this will make it a smoother shooter. turns out the hatsans have a very loose-fitting piston seal and a very heavy piston. The combination kind of sucks. Also enlarged the scope block screw to 10/32.

Looks nice! To match the paint colour, you can use similar colour furniture touch-up marker. You can use it around the screw hole and inside the stock. Good luck!
