Hello everyone,

Thought I'd provide a little performance feedback on a very inexpensive Laser Rangefinder I recently purchased from Wes @ AirGunArcheryFun. It's a Chinese made (what isn't nowadays?) BIJIA 600M, rated at 600 meters for $80 and change. https://airgunarcheryfun.ca/bijia-laser ... ting-600m/

To date I've been using my trusty Leica Disto, accurate to 1/16th of an inch, but nigh on impossible to see it's red laser dot for sighting on anything but an overcast day. Holding the laser measure steady enough over 40 yards to take a measurement is also very challenging with this device.

Enter the BIJIA ........ this cheapy rangefinder takes remarkably accurate distance measurements, rain or shine. Even though it's rated at 600 meters, I was easily ranging targets across St Mary Lake in excess of 900 meters! Just for yucks, I pitted the accuracy of the BIJIA against my Leica Disto on an overcast day when I could see the red laser dot of the Disto well enough to measure out to a target 80 meters distant ........ the Chinese made rangefinder consistently measured within 3 inches accuracy against the Leica at a variety of ranges, far exceeding it's specified accuracy of +/- 1 Meter. The unit also sports angle measurement / slope compensation, scan mode and speed calculation of a moving target. 6X optical Zoom and Meter/Yard measurement selection.

Very impressed with the performance and accuracy of this little rangefinder, taking measurements within half a second or so and easily ranging every 100 yard target (the limit of my airgun shooting) I could throw at it. Way to go Wes, another one out of the park!

Cheers!

Avianmanor

I have this very unit and it’s a great little cheap range finder. I ordered it from over seas for not much less than you’ve got it here. I’m impressed, I’d recommend buying it if you don’t want to spend a lot of money, on a very simple machine.

When I see $450+ range finders I throw up in my mouth a little.

Thanks for the review! Looks very promising for the price point. I agree, nearly everything is China made these days. I personally feel the quality of many mid range China made items has improved overall from what they used to export. Sometimes hard to justify the price for something made in North America when the Chinese comparable is basically the same at half the cost.
Might give this one a try.

China seems to be coming out of the same "MADE IN JAPAN" syndrome of the 60's/70's, with improved products.
That certainly is an inexpensive range finder and that it works past 600 meters is amazing.

Thanks for the review! I too found they work really well.
I've got a few more coming and a couple left here in a different color I believe.
Thanks,
Wes

Thanks for posting the info on this. How does it do at closer ranges say 10 to 55 yards for field target or archery use. would you recommend for these uses ? Sounds like just what i need if it works well in these ranges. Thinking of shooting open springer where this would come in handy. Thanks for you advice in advance.

I use it mostly for short yardage. 5-30 meters. Works good, obviously can’t see through branches and brush, needs to be a clean shot a the target. But for what it does, it’s a good price.

Has anyone checked the accuracy of it? It might be a cheap unit, or looks nice. But if it's in accurate, then its not really worth it.

Here's the ops comment on accuracy, comparing to the Leica which is accurate to 1/16".

I do not understand this measuring within X # of inches. My rangefinders, and any range finders I have used, including a Leica, measure in yards or meters, not inches.
