The gouges don't look very bad. The clip doesn't look like it is needed anywhere, at least it isn't a functional part of the ram. I have seen some rams that have plastic rims, colours show the force rating - blue, red, etc for different forces. Moly up and reassemble, If it ever feels crunchy again: stop, disassemble and inspect.

if the gas ram has some scarring then your main tube will probably have some as well
that c clip or ring came from somewhere, you don't know where ?

If you look closly at the gas ram theres a divid right befor the rod the c ring goes around cant seem to find a purpose for it and it wasnt colour coded. You said if theres scaring on thengas ram then theres scarring on the main tube. What problems can that cause me. Thanks for all the info guys have learned ALOT about air guns. All input helps

I thought it might of gone around the strut i see the indent on it but it should not of came off just
from shooting, that tells me that it possibly came into contact with something inside... :?
i have installed gas struts for some people iv'e never seen one with that ring, where did you order
that and what's the make and #
the scarring wont do much to the gas ram strut but if you decide one day to go back to a spring
depending on how bad the scarring is it wont be good...

Hi Raven~ are you able to take a close shot on the C clip and upload a bigger picture? It looks not like a clip but something else... And according to its size, I agreed with Ace, it looks no belongs to the gas ram at all...

When you take the gas strut out, did you notice anything else in the gun feels loose etc??

Ya i tryed to crop and zoom all it is is a c ring shaped thin piece of metal that clips on the ram on the indent or grove for it in i kind of notice it kicks more and doesnt cycle as smooth still pretty accurate tho no nothing else was loose. And it 100% is from the gas ram the clip looks like it expanded 10x the size it orginaly was

did you happen to notice that with the ring on the gas ram strut fit more snug into the tube
with not so much side to side movement as appose to it not being on ?
also i think you may have installed your gas ram the wrong end in...did you install it thinner side in ?
