Just arrived on Friday, my first PCP air rifle. No where could I find information on how they modified the “Canadian” version. I’ll break it down in detail shortly, but the coles notes version. The Barrel is actually 3.25” (82.55MM) shorter than our USA counterparts. They removed the baffle area completely, so that they can’t just be added back in. She’s as loud as a powder .22.

Quieter on CO2 and almost as powerful, according to the Y-Tube video.
roughly 500 to 600 shots on 12 oz. CO2 tank.($5.00 fill at home Hardware locally)

Might be slightly quieter, but without the baffles, it’s going to be very loud regardless of what gas/air is pushing it. I’m not interested in that modification.

My mod plans involve the hajimoto super tune kit, aluminum air stripper, bipod.

Be that as it may, without the shroud on the gun at all, mine is quite quiet on CO2, yet still quite powerful - supposedly at 18/19 FPE.

Interesting, and thanks for letting us know, but I wouldn’t want the barrel un-shrouded. I’m very rural, plus I’ll use it at the range. I was just a little taken back by just how loud it is.

I just became a proud owner as well! Thanks to Apitagen, and a fine trade. I haven't even had a chance to shoot it yet.
I see the one I have is an earlier model like yours, if I understand your comments, and the shroud extends past a fair ways. The newer ones have the shroud cut so the end cap is at the end of the barrel, if I understand correctly.
Mine is a 177. I'm curious now how loud it is.
Thanks,
Wes

Super tune kit should help it out. Hajimoto is a great guy, I always enjoy his videos and posts on other forums.

Hey Wes... That 177 Gauntlet you now own is boring.... boringly accurate using even the lowly Crosman CP heavies but more boring when you use the JSB 10g heavies... :-). Much quieter than the Outlaw if you know what I mean but with greater shot count. Give it a go to find out yourself..

This is one mod I will do for sure, back it off down to 5 FPE for rats, and crank it up to 30 FPE for larger pests.

Boringly accurate. LOL. I love it. That’s why I bought one.

I was told by Umarex yesterday that the .177 is now discontinued for the gauntlet. They’re only making .22 and .25 caliber versions now.

If you want a barrel band, Hajimoto makes one after market.
