(Some?) Cooey rimfire rifles are annoying because due to safty reason, after you loaded a round into the chamber you need to pull the striker to cock the gun. But in my advice, this actually makes the gun more dangerous as you'll always tend to think that your gun is uncocked. Here's a simple mod that you can have this "safty" gone.

you only need to grind down the red part in the picture with a bench grinder or a hand file, until its flat. then fine polish the surface. In my experience it doesn't matter if you grind a little bit too much as long as you dont damage the striker ping.

I guess that is why we always treat the gun is loaded and dangerous.

I guess it makes alot sense on what you did, it's actually make the gun
more safe than before, just like most of the bolt action today.

My Cooey is semi-auto :D

Yeah, before the mod it was just so annoying as each time it didn't fire when I set my mind, stop my breath and pull the trigger. So every time I load it I cock it right after, and this safty mesurement becomes senseless.
