It was a couple of years before I started there. Word was they "borrowed" some of the schools sound equipment on their way out. lol .
Our little contribution to their success .

I've never heard of them before - been a Canadian for almost 70 years.
Sad to die at such a young age and of cancer. The lord's blessings and best wishes for his family
and loved ones. :(

The group was very popular where I grew up in Niagara. They started in St Catharines and played free concerts at Lakeside Park, referenced in one of their songs. Had to go to bigger venues when they became more popular. Might not have had a huge following, but those that did were diehard fans. Very heady lyrics; Geddy Lee is a bright guy.

Neil was a young guy and had plenty left in him to give. Very sad.

Formed in 1968, Neil Peart replaced original drummer John Rutsey in July 1974
maybe you didn't hear of them because its not you type of music Daryl
still find it hard to believe even if it wasn't you style of music that you never heard of the band
there an iconic Canadian band must say i'm a bit surprised
Rush's total worldwide album sales at over 40 million units as of 2017.
the group has been awarded 24 gold, 14 platinum, and 3 multi-platinum albums.
Rush has been nominated for seven Grammy Awards, has won several Juno Awards,
and won an International Achievement Award at the 2009
band was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame in 1994 and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2013
also Neil's induction into the Modern Drummer Readers Poll Hall of Fame in 1983,
making him the youngest person ever honoured.

still that was very nice of you... 8)
maybe i'm just a bit more attached because i grew up listening to them
got my first drum kit because of him and they were a local band... Willowdale, Toronto, Ontario, :supz:

me and some friends use to ride to Niagara on the lake
almost every weekend, every time i visited lakeside park that song played in my head... 8)
have to correct you there Mac, Neil was born in Hamilton
Geddy lee born in Willowdale, Alex lifeson born British Columbia,
Geddy lee is an incredible musician but Neil was the primary lyricist
most of all the songs were written by him, 80 in total...
