I have read that you can not use PB scopes on air rifles.
What will happen to a PB scope if you mount it on a air rifle?

Well you can use a PB scope on most Airguns. If its AO. Since most PB are parrelex at 100m. It's the spring or Nitro Pistons that are scope busters, due to the dual recoil. PB recoil back, where Spring/NP have back and forth.

Usually I think is you will shake the lenses and reticle loose so every time you shoot the lens focal plain is misaligned.

But what will physically be damaged by the springer or nitro piston

On my Benji Classic .22 it shook the reticle ring loose. I read that it can even break etched-on glass reticles on magnum springers. I remember seeing it can also dislodge the elevation/windage tube springs inside the scope tube; also saw it can break the parallax adjustment mechanism on side-parallax scope. The recoil may make the scope move in the rings and mark/pinch the tube. Lot of things possible.

Check out Wesb's website. He has some good scopes for a decent price.

I have these and they're very decent, the Airmax serie is designed for springers:

Oh yeah then there is the shifting on the dovetail, breaking stop pins on lower quality rings.

You don't want those, normally pretty grainy and not clear. Unless you know what you are looking for. I got a 40$ Fitco 4-12x40 AO on a Cooey 22LR while it works, it's not the best, nor the clearest. Alot of distortion.

I heard say Tasco Varmint scope and the Nikkon Sterling Mount Masters are spring rated.

I read or heard somewhere, that all adjustable objective Bushnell scopes are OK in springers, by Bushnell.
Can anyone corroborate this?
