I was thinking of getting the HW98 in .177. I have a gorgeous R9 in .22cal now . I'm using that exclusively on my new hobby, speed shooting. The Champ uses a HW80/R1. In fact today the HW95/R9 series.. R9/HW98 it still is one of the top 3 springer rifles of all time. Based on Quality Build, Trigger, Power to weight ratio at close to critical mass, Low hold sensitivity, Best Sporter Open Sights, Balance and Now a days close to a "state of tune" out of the box. Mine in the Beeman guise looks fantastic.. Dark wood , Rowan Black straight set back trigger. Off Hand Standing No Assist I can shoot my R9 just as accurate as my TX200s...(H&Ns Bar.Hunt. 605 fps ave.) But off the bench past 30 yards the TX200 sores away easily unashamed.... MKIIs for sure. I am very happy no one can yet challange the old warriors still winning the World's, Nationals etc.. (Spring Piston Class ) today ... TXs . And what's better than an R9/HW95/HW98/R11/HW85 ?? Just so there is no confusion... still the very best springers today. My Dream ? That one day AA make a crack barrel or a HW57 size TX200MIIII !! I had the Pro Elites but it would be nice the whole thing about it in a fun medium springer or under lever Air Arms shrunk down. And I dream that HW makes all it's springers with a better pistol grip and all .25 calibers available from HW95 Up... Wow that would be so doable. Sorry was dreaming again...

A .25 HW springer would be nice if it ran 600fps with a 26gr. Predator pellet.
