Well I made the leap and purchased my first pcp air rifle.An Artemis regulated stormrider with pumpand scope.Supposed to be in the mail Tuesday,going to seem like forever for it to get here.

Well done. It's best to just forget about it until it arrives. Depending on where it's coming from, could be 5 to 7 days- or only 3!!!

Congrats on your new purchase, and the waiting game with the post office is a tough one. On the other hand though it will close to the feeling of christmass morning when we kids!

well I have had time to do a little shooting with the new gun.i get 70 consistent shots out of it or if you were just plinking at cans probably 90.I have only shot at 10m but is seems fairly accurate.The only pellets I could get to cycle through the magazine were Crosman hollow point and JSB exact.seems to be a good little gun and should be perfect for the pests.

I tried 8 different H&N pellets also .they all gave good groups but would not cycle through the magazine

I have a similar rifle. The magazine does have problems with some pellets - i think it depends on the shape and head diameter. I find JSB at 5.52 head size cycle smoothly, as well as CPHP (stock, no head size printed on tins). Whereas, RWS super domes are sticky and Grizzles get seriously hung up. The only way to test the sticky ones is to shoot with single shot tray. Some group fine this way, while they spit like a shotgun if I feed them through the mag; I'm pretty sure they get mangled feeding through the mag.

I also found it tends to not like h&n pellets.

I have been experimenting with hammer spring and regulator setting .I think I ended up with a good balance between power and shot count.The intended range for this gun is 10 to 30 meters.

Running 12.8fpe if using the 14.53gr. Is that on low power?
12.7fpe is using Crossman 14.43gr.HP

Crosman hollow points are the only thing I can get locally.Going by the gauge on the hand pump I estimate 850-900 psi for a regulator setting.I did not do anything to the valve spring settings.I cut up a hardware store spring to make spacers for the hammer spring.Used 3 at .037".I must have made mistake when entering pellet weight.
