Anyone know where one could buy an AK 47 .177 BB CO2 airgun like this.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aSDU-Qh-pGw

Getting tired of waiting for Umarex or Crosman to come out with a new version.

I would prefer to buy new.

I think they were sold in Canada a number of years ago. Since less than 500 fps. would not think it would be a problem getting. Esp. now that there are so many CO2 BB assault rifles on the market.

And any idea the price range?

Thanks

I think the police deemed them prohibited since they used real AK47s in the construction. And those in Canada were not suppose to be up here. So those who have them, probably won't speak up.

Now a Izhmash Yunker 3 is probably the closest you get. They have a FRT for firearm exempt.

Can't get one. It's a prohibited firearm. There was a whole fiasco involving those a few years back. They are apparently made out of actual AK-47 receivers making them actual AK-47s in the eyes of the law. Several vendors were raided by the RCMP and people's rifles were confiscated.

Thanks for the article leadslinger. I read Michael Kaye's story on this matter. Got to feel sorry for him. With the raid by the SWAT team to his house, a dozen police cars blocking his street, being arrested & handcuffed in front of his children & neighbours, and having his inventory, records & computers taken for a month, it doesn't sound like a lot of fun. And then no apologies from anyone.

But 10 years later, there are a number of very realistic looking replicas of assault rifles on the market in Canada. Some have similar parts to the real thing (like the Uzi). So you would think they might be now able to sell it legally in Canada.

Similar parts is a bit different then being built from a real functional AK47. Which the cybergun used the receiver, trigger assembly, barrel etc from a fully functional AK47. Which in Canada is prohibited and been paperweights/safe queens in Canada since 2005. When the RCMP stopped issuing ATT to take them to the range. And you needed to have one registered in your name before 1994.

So fat chance of them being allowed. Just because there are very realistic looking replicas. Difference is the yunkers and AR style BB guns, are built from scratch and not from an actual gun. Where they share NO working parts from either or.

The problem is that legally, the receiver is the firearm. An AK-47 receiver stripped of all parts and used as a paper weight is a prohibited firearm. There is no way to make anything made from an AK-47 receiver anything other than a prohibited firearm unless it is dewatted and rendered incapable of being anything more than a paperweight.
